California LVN's question (nclex results)

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello,

I have just heard some things from LVN's I know that I want cleared up. It is in regards to NCLEX exam results. A couple california LVN's say if you PASSED the NCLEX ...you get your results in 14 -16 days and if you FAIL the NCLEX you get your results in 21-28 days.

How long did it take until you got your NCLEX results?

Did you pass or fail ?

I am waiting impateintly for my results it's been 13 days and I havent recieved anything.

Thanks.

MY LVN UPDATE - AFTER A MONTH & A HALF FROM GETTING MY ACTUAL LICENSE IN THE MAIL:

After all the job interviews, gazillion on-line job applications, faxing my resume to countless job openings with no success.

As a new LVN graduate.... I found out the hard way that it was difficult to find an LVN job if you didn't have any prior experience in the medical field - your clinicals when you were in school doesn't count. I was so frustrated....most of the places I've applied for wanted LVN's with experience. Nevertheless....my determination finally resulted in me getting employed.....FINALLY.

I am now working in as a charge nurse in a SNF (skilled nursing facility) part-time and full-time in a federal hospital as a med/surg nurse.

My journey continues.......these are my first jobs as an LVN. Hopefully the next time I write here.... again (a year from now) is that I will be in an RN program.....

All the best to everyone this year 2009!!!!!

Please be very careful and I seriously mean this when you are made a charge nurse as a new grad. This means that you are responsible for all that happens on that shift. Without any experience to back you up, this can be quite scary for all.

What are you going to do in an emergency? Charge nurses are the ones that are looked to for the answers. What are you going to be able to provide for them?

Sorry to be such a downer here, glad that you found work, but please be very careful concerning your license.

Thank you very much for the advice.....

I will definitely keep that in mind.

Hi,

I took my LVN Boards March 2, 2009...the computer shut off at 89 or 90 questions... I was so nervous that I failed to keep track! What does that mean... good or bad? Im soooooo nervous! I studied so much and when it came to taking the exam, I had no idea what they were asking! I feel like I did very bad! Did anyone pass with 89-90 questions? :sniff:

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

You can pass with any number of questions. Best thing to do is relax whilst you wait for your results Good luck
