265 and failed

I really thought I could do this but I failed with 265 questions. I don't know where to go from here. I feel like such an idiot.:down:

i am sorry to heat that you didn't pass that awful exam. know that you are not alone in conquering this exam. i also have failed the nclex 3 times. many people do not succeed on their 1st attempt. it is very disappointing, but you have to get back up and start fresh. do not let this test define you. take a break for several days, a week or 2 weeks if you need to and when you do start to prepare again, i suggest you use saunders 4th edition and follow suzanne's plan. there is a sticky at the top of the nclex forum page that gives all the details. remember all things are possible! also try and follow the "random facts" thread, now a sticky thread, it has so far been a super additional study source. i wish you all the best and remember not everyone passes their 1st time. you can do this and we will succeed!! i hope everything works out and best of luck to you with whatever you decide to do.

sorry to hear you didn't pass. my advice would be the same. take a week off. begin to study again when your in the right frame of mind. go to the library and see if they have any nclex books. I liked saunders to review and study with. but I also used kaplan strategies book also because they had harder questions. I would also recommend the HESI book. the cd that comes with it has a lot of really great questions. practice practice practice with the questions. read the random facts thread. do you know your weakness from you previous exams? make sure to focus on those for your studying also.

hey, don't worry about it! now that you took the nclex, you now know what it is like and have a familiar idea what kind of questions they ask.

so now what you need to do is start all over again!

yes, it is very discouraging of not passing.......but it's not the end of the world!

you got to keep your chin up and re-focus again!

you need to write down:

0. how did feel going into the center? were you feeling confident? did you have faith??

1. what are your weaknesses?

2. how were you studying? were you studying in a organized way? did you make flashcards? flashcards helped me a lot!

2. did you see a pattern in the nclex of what kind of questions you think they were repeating?

3. think of doing a study prep program.

4. if your able to afford it try to do kaplan. kaplan did help me a lot!!! they teach you strategies on how to prepare for the rn nclex boards. they will teach how to read the question and read what exactly they are asking. the strategies did help me a lot!

5. if you are tight on money then do suzannes plan like silverdragon102 recommends.

wanttopass....do not give up!!! just study again and retake it!

your lucky that you can take it again! imagine if you had to repeat clinicals or repeat lectures?

you can do this!!! i know you can! this is all possible!!

so you have what? 45 days to retake it again?

don't loose faith in yourself! having faith and being positive will help you accomplish this!!!

Thank you all for your kind words. I will try again I just have to get the courage to take it again. I was reading over Suzanns plan and I have Kaplan so I think I will try both after I take a few days off to recoop.

If you wish to do my plan, it was meant to be done on its own. It is never sent out when doing something else at the same time as it would not be program then.

Oh okay, so would you recommend me just focusing on the Saunders book. I already did Kaplan for my first attempt and obviously didn't pass so I am willing to go in a different direction to be able to pass. I have read many of good things about your plan on here and I think it is great you offer it. Thanks for your help.

Hey hang in there, it's your first attempt. Alot of us on here have failed alot, lol. :D Anyways Saunder's is great, you can't go wrong with that book. Take some time off and get back in the game, Goodluck to you and cheer up. ^_^

you should give it a try... try a different way of studying if your ways didn't work for the past attempts..

Suzanne's program has a high success rate, would suggest concentrating on that on it's own
