NCLEX dilemma

Published

I took the nclex on august 1st...and ever since then i still have not received my results due to my college not verifying my bachelors degree within graduation date therefore witholding the release of my transcripts to the board....my school was finally able to send out my transcripts on august 19th...and ive been waiting since...i last called the board on friday..august 22nd...and they told me my transcripts have not been received/processed and will take up to 4-6 weeks!!!! IS THIS REALLY TRUE???? alot of my classmates received it within a week at the most...its jeopardizing my future job and i need results before sept 5 or else i lose it!!! im stressing out...anyone with similar experiences??

the wait is so horrible.. :crying2::sniff:

Sorry, but how can WE tell you if it's true?

If it were me, I'd be calling that school to get some type of verification it SENT the stupid transcripts, and then calling that BON daily to get the same verification that it RECEIVED them.

Be prepared for one thing: at no time can you expect the BON to shortcut anything in an effort to help you; don't be surprised if that 4 weeks is just that. They've heard every story under the sun, and EVERYONE has a reason for wanting that license faster....so yours will get there when it gets there.

However, keep up on the follow-through, and make sure you have names and times/dates of who you spoke with each time.

I would physically get a copy of the verification from your school via a visit to the office & walk into your state board office. When you go to the state office to hand the results over, document the date & time you were there + who you handed the results to.

How did you take the NCLEX without the BON having your transcripts in the first place? The BON would have had to okay you to take it. That is what your ATT is for. I would be finding out why you were allowed to test in the first place. I've heard of stuff like this before and some people had to retake the NCLEX d/t it being invalid. :twocents:

Hi,

Had almost same problem, i mailed my appt for taking my test and pearson test center could not locate. It took about 2months to get my appointment. Which think it was good, gave me a bit more time to study. God knows why!!!! Also school plays a big role in sending out the info to the boards, sometimes they are lazy or not enough funds to pay the reg fee 200.00, figure it out, when we are paying a whole lot of money for the program. Any ways call the testing center and bug the boards. I recieved my results after taking the test about three weeks, some other students two weeks. I would wait for the mail man, with a beer in my hand. Trust me I was stressed out too. Also if you get a thick envelope you did not pass, if it's thin you passed. I did pass the test:yeah:. Also now I am enrolled in RN program. Trust me after you become RN OR LPN, You want more. Please work hard and safe be good to your patients. Really love what you are doing, not just for the money. But from the heart. I can not tell you how much I love nursing, it's my passion till the end of time. Good Luck and never give up on your dreams. Also last thing, if you feel that Your License is in danger bail out, you do not need to loose it for no one. You work very hard for it. liz T.

Not sure if the poster is from Ca, but the CA BRN will permit one to test provided that their name is on a roster sent to them by the school that they are expected to graduate. However, they will not release the license or issue a license number unless there is a completed file. This is also a very well known fact with CA and why it can take a month or two to see a name on their website.

There are a couple of other states that do this as well, but it is not the routine.

If the poster is in Ca, there is no reason that they will need to retest, or do anything else. Each state can set their own requirements for testing, and they do.
