NCLEX in 4 days!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

FINALLY got my ATT a few days ago and scheduled my NCLEX for Monday, June 29th! I’ve been studying every chance I get. Feel like I can pass, then my stomach turns at the thought of not passing. Each day that has went by I get more and more nervous! Any tips as far as studying, prep, or anything in that nature with my test date in a few days? TIA!

ETA: I currently use NCLEX PN Mastery and used a little bit of Kaplan to study!

Just got mine today. My test is tomorrow. This won't be the first license/certification test I've taken, and it's not going to be the last. I've had some that I passed at the minimum number of answers to pass, and I've had others that I failed and had to retake. When I failed, I just studied a little more and then passed on my second try. It wasn't the end of the world. I still got my job, and worked in that field for a while. And with nursing, if you have to give up the job you were planning on getting, there's a really good chance you can still get that same job again in 45 days after you retest.

The worst possible thing that can happen is you fail. That's it. I'm sure you've failed tests before at some point in your life. Try to stop convincing yourself that you HAVE TO pass on your first try. You have as many tries as your state will let you take to pass this test. You're going into a really in-demand field that ALWAYS has jobs open.

Don't make passing on Monday a requirement, make it a challenge.

You made it this far, you know enough to be able to pass the test. And if you fail, from experience, it's not a big deal. You'll actually probably study way better and retain way more if you have to retest, because now you don't have nerves getting in the way, you've already failed once and realized that you were stressing so much over nothing.

Relax, enjoy your weekend, study when you can without overdoing it and burning yourself out, and just go take the test Monday and try to not even worry about if you passed or failed. You'll find out a few days after, and then make your plan once you know if you're getting a license or if you have to retest.

Hi! ?

I took NCLEX-RN on June 11th & I passed with 60 questions.

I did the Kaplan Q Bank and the 3 practice CAT NCLEX exams. Scored red on the first CAT & green on the two other but had the max 265 so I was spazzing when I found out the NCLEX is how minimum 60 & mac 130 because I thought with more questions I’d have more leeway to pass, but Turns our it was all okay!
I watched simple nursing on Youtube, he is amazing especially with knowing pharmacology.
Kaplan is SO similar to the NCLEX. This was my second time taking it & first time I used UWorld and failed. Kaplan was definitely way more like NCLEX with difficulty wise & the way questions were worded. Highly recommend Kaplan. Read rationale!! I had a couple hundred left in my Qbank. I studied for only 4 weeks.

Watch Simple nursing for DKA & HHNS, hypo and hyper thyroidism, heart failure, all of his videos that are within the last year. Love love him & I remembered everything because of him!

I also love the LaCharity book, did a lot of those questions. But Kaplan & simple nursing on Youtube did it for me!

GOOD LUCK!!! You got this! ????

P.S...... don’t study a lot the day before!!! If you do, maybe do an hour or two in the AM. Say to yourself “I AM GOING TO PASS THE NCLEX AT 60 QUESTIONS”, “I AM A NURSE.” Trust me it realllllly helps. positive mindset & law of attraction, amazing stuff. I had no doubt in myself this time & that worked out good!

Thank you both for your advice and positivity! Very much appreciated!!

A good positive mindset is your real ticket-to-test! You have got this. All your hard work and hours studying and applying nursing knowledge will pay off. Best wishes for a very successful test and career!

Update: I took my NCLEX-PN at about 8am this morning! Did NOT feel very confident. I got the email that I finished the exam at 9:08am and just tried the PVT (11:18am) and got a “good pop-up.” I know it’s not very accurate, but I had to. Hoping that’s a good sign! Meanwhile, I’ll be a nervous wreck until I see my license number!

YAAAYY CONGRATS!! I'm sure you did great but I can understand the nerves. How many questions did you get? Did you happen to incorporate anything else outside of NCLEX Mastery to study? I've solely been using U World and just so unsure if this is enough

It shut off at 60. And I really just used the NCLEX PN Mastery and a little bit of Kaplan. I don’t feel like I should be handing out advice just yet, still don’t know if I passed LOL.

Update: I PASSED!! New nurse over here!! ?
