NCLEX in 20 days!!! (January 15, 2013)

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I am sooo nervous!... I have done HURST Review and am now doing Kaplan review: so far my diagnostic score was a 61.11% QT1: 60% and QT2: 64% I am still working through reading the Course Book and reviewing the content lesson...

I have been doing 100-150 questions a day whether its on Kaplan or flash card questions. I am afraid that a lot the questions I am doing are too easy and will be easier than what will be on the actually NCLEX...

I feel so discouraged at times because I have a lot depending on me passing the NCLEX, a new job lined up, my parents, boyfriend, etc. :nailbiting:

Is there anything else I can do different? Are my scores okay? Any advice will help!!

Thanks :shy:

Hey! I'm doing Qbank questions every day, reviewing normal lab values and going over information I feel shaky about -- especially meds! I feel like I'm not studying enough but I also know that if I study too much I will be brain dead and not retain anything anyways! I also started going over the study guide that I found on this website that has some awesome information! How has studying been going for you?? I'm sure you are going to do fantastic!!!!

I've also been going over things that come up in the qbank questions if I dont know them, and like you said, ESPECIALLY the meds. But I feel that there are soo many medications you can't really study for them.

I looked over the study guide once and may look over it again. I also write down things that I think are important from the qbank and qtrainer questions and will look over those on monday before the exam.

Trying to think positive thoughts!

Your welcome! Those are great scores keep up the hard work....you'll do great Kaplan prepares you really well. Just got my official results and I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!:roflmao::):roflmao::yes:[/quote']

Awww. Comgrats, Ms. RN!! Good luck on your career and thank you again for helping me! :)

Hey everyone! My name is Lisa & I graduated with my BSN on December 15, 2012 with highest honors. I took the Kaplan in-class review course Jan 2-5 and have been on track with my study schedule since then. I test 1 week from today, Saturday January 19, 2013 at 8 am and I'm definitely struggling with some anxiety right about now! These are my Kaplan Test scores:

Diagnostic Test: 67%

QT 1: 60%

QT 2: 67%

QT 3: 60%

QT 4: 63%

QT 5: 61%

QT 6: 67%

QT 7: 63%

Readiness Test: 68%

I'm doing Qbank questions Qday and my average so far is a 67% there. So my question is did anyone out there with similar scores to me pass the NCLEX on their first try? I have a job as an Emergency Department Nurse on the line as I start orientation January 28th - and I am praying that I pass in a week - I just want it to be OVER!!! I printed out the study guide floating around here & will study that along with my Kaplan review material. Any suggestions????

Thanks! And good luck to everyone out there who is in this same boat!!!!

Wow! You're grades look great. Based on what I read in previous posts they did pass. :)

I have just been doing Kaplan questions everyday alll day. I'm hoping that's enough![/quote']

Same here! I'm starting to freak out as well. But I have a month to prepare. Best of luck for your exam! :)

I know what you mean about positive thoughts! My husband & I just signed on a house this morning - so talk about another added stress for me needing to pass my boards on Saturday! 5 more days!!!! I'm so ready for this to be behind us -- I have no doubt we are going to do fantastic and have our credentials soon!!!

Sending positive thoughts your way!!!

Don't freak out, that is truly my most valuable piece of advice! I know it is easy to say, especially when you're on the other side, but I felt the questions required a clear mind and a step by step thinking process; it is not simply an abnormal lab value, what would you worry about.. I wish I could rewind and NOT study (lol) because you must have the mindset that you've got this exam. In the beginning all the facts I had studied in the past few weeks were swirling around my mind and I was reading too much into the question. Take your time on each question, think through EVERY option because very rarely will it be blatantly obvious to you the right answer. Go with your gut what will be the SAFEST and what is to be EXPECTED.. don't get jazzed up by a s/s just because it's dramatic. I'll be honest, I cried all the way home, I was convinced I'd failed (Nothing official yet, just the good pop up, so I shouldn't be too sure of myself I guess! :roflmao:). But take your time, do your best, and have faith in your school program that they have prepared you well, because they have. Deep down, somewhere inside your brain, you know what the *best* answer is. Whatever you do, don't study the night before! You all have got this! :inlove:

BEST OF LUCK to everyone taking the NCLEX tomorrow!!! You will rock it! And congrats all517, you passed!! I agree with everything you said as words of advice and I also felt that I wish I could re-wind and not study haha. Something I wish I did study tho was post mortem care. Never learned a thing about it in school or in Kaplan and I had 2 freaking questions on it! What are the odds of that? I know everyones exam is so different but maybe try to review that somewhere! (Im sorry I dont know where you'd review this because I looked in all of my books after my exam and found NOTHING! crazy right?!) Good luck everyone! Be confident! ;)
