  1. CONGRATS TO YOU MARIA, RN BSN!!!!!!! So proud of all of us!!!
  2. I think all of your feelings are normal...I would go through phases of being confident in myself and then seriously doubting myself to the point of tears! You have 4 days left so my advice to you would just be to keep practicing questions but most of all, keep your chin up and be confident in yourself! I know, harder than it sounds but seriously...if you walk in doubting yourself with a negative attitude I truly believe it will take away from you performing your best on the big day! And if it makes you feel any better, my qbank average was in the 50's and I only finished half of the qbank and I was still able to pass in 75 questions. You can do it, keep telling yourself you can
  3. CONGRATS RN!!!!!!!! PROUD OF YA! how AMAZING does it feel!?!!!!! my name finally appeared on my state's BON today! woohoo!!!!
  4. BEST OF LUCK to everyone taking the NCLEX tomorrow!!! You will rock it! And congrats all517, you passed!! I agree with everything you said as words of advice and I also felt that I wish I could re-wind and not study haha. Something I wish I did study tho was post mortem care. Never learned a thing about it in school or in Kaplan and I had 2 freaking questions on it! What are the odds of that? I know everyones exam is so different but maybe try to review that somewhere! (Im sorry I dont know where you'd review this because I looked in all of my books after my exam and found NOTHING! crazy right?!) Good luck everyone! Be confident!
  5. Your welcome! Those are great scores, keep up the hard work....you'll do great Kaplan prepares you really well. Just got my official results and I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!:)
  6. Hi! Thank you! :) Whenever I did the Q-Bank I always did 50 question tests, that is what Kaplan recommends. I usually did two 50 question tests a day until I realized I was running out of time and started doing the qtrainers. I never even got around to doing the Sample tests. I wish that I did, I feel I would have had more confidence if I finished the whole Qbank! I did do all of the Qtrainers tho and my scores were as follows: Diagnostic: 56.11% QT1: 66.67% QT2: 66.67% QT3: 63.0% QT4: 61.0% QT5: 59% (got a bit worried here!) QT6: 60.0% QT7: 66.42 Readiness: 62.22% Good luck to you and I hope that this helps!! You can do it! Oh and my advice while studying...definitely read all of the rationales whether you get the question wrong or right. That is primarily how I studied and if I got to a question about a topic I knew I was weak in, like chest tubes for example...I would use my Kaplan book and I also had the Mosby's book to look up all of the information they gave me on chest tubes and study the heck out of it so that if I ever saw chest tubes come up as a topic of a question I knew I could nail it!! GOOD LUCK!! You will be an RN soon!!! Let me know if you have any other questions, I'd love to try to help!
  7. You're Welcome!! Less than 24 hours ago I was going through the exact same anxiety as you so I understand! You will be fine on the nclex, your kaplan scores are well above 60! You must be a really good critical thinker! For some reason I just logged on to my Kaplan (idk why....by habit maybe? am i going insane?!!) and I realized I only completed 48% of the q bank and my average was only a 56%...if I had known this last night I probably would have passed out! Keep up the studying, you're gonna do great!!
  8. Oh and about Kaplan...I do think that the Kaplan questions are much harder! If you are doing well with Kaplan that means that you really understand why an answer is right, and with that you can answer any type of question. The Kaplan questions really get you thinking critically which is what you want to be doing when preparing for the nclex.
  9. Thank you!!!! If this is true and I did pass, my advice is to BE CONFIDENT! This is coming from someone who is a self doubter sometimes! I said I was not going to study the night before, just review labs and immunization chart but GUESS WHAT...I woke up early and studied all day up until dinner time! And then when my fiance came home and asked how my day was, I started crying and told him I felt like I didnt know anything! It feels so silly now...but then I was in the shower and was thinking about diseases and trying to think of s/s and I couldnt, my brain was officially fried!! This was so depressing for me. It was soooo hard but I put the books and notes down and we went out to dinner, and then when we came home we watched TV together. I didnt think anything was going to calm my nerves at this point but doing something besides beating facts into my head and cramming made me feel at ease. I guess I came to the realization that at this point, I have to just trust my knowledge and not waste my energy on worrying. We all really have learned so much in school, and the truth is we will never know it all no matter how hard we try. The other thing- If I can tackle the NCLEX beast, so can you!! Stay positive and keep telling yourself you can do it!!!
  10. Thank you! Maria and Dubs2012: I posted my experience on the other post we have been talking on! :)
  11. OMG I HOPE I DID!!!! I honestly cried the entire 2 hour car ride home because I felt like "what just happened in there"...lots of random questions that any amount of studying couldn't help me with. I guess that is why its best to just take your test and not delay it! As far as my experience, I was calm driving there but once they took my picture and finger scan and all that I got a knot in my stomach and thought I was gonna puke! I sat down and prayed before even touching my computer which really really helped me. I know not everyone is religious, but praying really calms me :-) I took a deep breath and began. I honestly am glad I did Kaplan because it really did feel like I was just taking another Q Bank...even the timer and question count is set up on the same side. By question 15 I got my first SATA and just worked through it using the true/false strategy and once I checked an answer I moved on. By question 60 I tried to focus EXTRA hard and my question 75 was a SATA. I stared at the question for a couple of minutes before checking off my answers and when I hit NEXT I squeezed my eyes shut!!!! When I opened them there was a message that I had completed the exam and it was time to take the survery. My hands started to shake, as much as I would have loved to finish and pass at 75 I worried that maybe 75 wasnt enough, maybe the computer had decided I had failed and that was it, my shot was over. This was why my car ride home was so depressing. I waiting a good hour or so to even try logging in to pearson. When I did and got the good pop up I literally scared my dog b/c of my reaction lol. So now just to wait and see for the final results!!!! Sorry for the ramble but I know this past week as I've been studying I have been really interested in hearing lots of nurses nclex experience, so that is why I am sharing mine As far as SATA, I was soo worried about these but honestly DO NOT worry about them!!! They are considered "higher level questions" on the nclex but they are not bad at all. I even thought that most of my SATA were easier than lots of the other multiple choice questions. Mine were all on very broad nursing topics that I was comfortable with even before studying. (And just so ya know...I got a 28% on the Kaplan alternative question quiz:wacky:) Kaplan questions are muchhhh harder. In total I would say I probably had about 8-9 SATA (seems much less than other people who have passed in 75q), 2 picture questions, 2 EKG, 1 math, lots of priority/delegation questions and about 5 infection control (memorize the mneumonic and you'll do great on these;)) And that was my NCLEX experience!! Now I am gonna go crazy for the next 48 hours waiting for results!
  12. Thank you all for the prayers and good luck wishes, I just got home from the testing center and tried PVT and am getting the "good pop up"...I cannot believe my eyes, I hope and pray this is trueeeeeeee!!! eeeeeekkk I hate the wait!!!!!
  13. Just got home from my NCLEX...2 hours and 75 questions and just tried to register with pearson and am getting the "good pop up":nailbiting: I know everyone says it works but I guess its just one of those things when you experience it, it is hard to believe because I am in complete shock! I just dont want to get too excited prematurely
  14. THATS AWESOME!! Great news for you! Got that boost you needed! I am gonna watch The Office and get a good nights sleep (at least try to!) My test is at 8am so I will let you know how it goes tomorrow! THANK YOU FOR THE PRAYERS!!!! Oh I hope I pass!
  15. I feel pretty good about it, but I do get nervous about the SATA...I wish Kaplan gave more than just a few scattered here and there and that alternative question quiz (which i didnt do well on...) For the diseases in the Kaplan book...I feel like I could rattle off the main s/s but am sure I would be leaving some out, could probably recognize them in a test question tho? (I HOPE!) I think while studying it would be much harder to memorize just s/s that are associated with a disease...the way I try to study it besides learning through question rationales, is to understand what is going on in the body in relation to the disease process. That way, it makes more sense to me and I will retain it better. I feel like i still sometimes get things mixed up but Im just trying my best. That is all I can really do at this point in the game...my nclex is in 16 hours, yikesssssssss! Oh and by the way, dont be discouraged with your score on qtrainer 5, that was my lowest of all of the qtrainers but then my 6 and 7 scores improved! And all I had time to do between taking them was review rationales. Keep it up, you've got this!!
