NCLEX in 20 days!!! (January 15, 2013)

Published

I am sooo nervous!... I have done HURST Review and am now doing Kaplan review: so far my diagnostic score was a 61.11% QT1: 60% and QT2: 64% I am still working through reading the Course Book and reviewing the content lesson...

I have been doing 100-150 questions a day whether its on Kaplan or flash card questions. I am afraid that a lot the questions I am doing are too easy and will be easier than what will be on the actually NCLEX...

I feel so discouraged at times because I have a lot depending on me passing the NCLEX, a new job lined up, my parents, boyfriend, etc. :nailbiting:

Is there anything else I can do different? Are my scores okay? Any advice will help!!

Thanks :shy:

Katie thank you so, so much for all your insight! I can't tell you how much better they make me feel! :) I am so glad you passed and I hope to join you soon on the other side of the NCLEX hill! :)

You're Welcome!! Less than 24 hours ago I was going through the exact same anxiety as you so I understand! You will be fine on the nclex, your kaplan scores are well above 60! You must be a really good critical thinker! For some reason I just logged on to my Kaplan (idk why....by habit maybe? am i going insane?!!) and I realized I only completed 48% of the q bank and my average was only a 56%...if I had known this last night I probably would have passed out! Keep up the studying, you're gonna do great!!

Hi Katie. Congrats on passing. I just wanna ask on how many questions do you use when doing qbank? That you got the average of 56%? Thank u. I hope that's me next month :)

Hi! Thank you! :) Whenever I did the Q-Bank I always did 50 question tests, that is what Kaplan recommends. I usually did two 50 question tests a day until I realized I was running out of time and started doing the qtrainers. I never even got around to doing the Sample tests. I wish that I did, I feel I would have had more confidence if I finished the whole Qbank! I did do all of the Qtrainers tho and my scores were as follows:

Diagnostic: 56.11%

QT1: 66.67%

QT2: 66.67%

QT3: 63.0%

QT4: 61.0%

QT5: 59% (got a bit worried here!)

QT6: 60.0%

QT7: 66.42

Readiness: 62.22%

Good luck to you and I hope that this helps!! You can do it! Oh and my advice while studying...definitely read all of the rationales whether you get the question wrong or right. That is primarily how I studied and if I got to a question about a topic I knew I was weak in, like chest tubes for example...I would use my Kaplan book and I also had the Mosby's book to look up all of the information they gave me on chest tubes and study the heck out of it so that if I ever saw chest tubes come up as a topic of a question I knew I could nail it!! GOOD LUCK!! You will be an RN soon!!! Let me know if you have any other questions, I'd love to try to help!

You are rocking with score ... Girl that's the way it goes. Keep rocking you see the result 100% RN. You are ready very good luck !!

Thank you for the encouragement! I have taken my QT1 - QT3 and it averaged between 55% - 65 % and I'm a bit worried. I'm taking my NCLEX this Feb 13. And I can't reschedule it anymore. I'm really freaking out. I have been taking qbanks and it just goes in the range from 60-65%. I really do hope I pass for the first time. Again, congrats! :)

Your welcome! Those are great scores, keep up the hard work....you'll do great Kaplan prepares you really well. Just got my official results and I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!:roflmao::):roflmao::yes:

Hey everyone! My name is Lisa & I graduated with my BSN on December 15, 2012 with highest honors. I took the Kaplan in-class review course Jan 2-5 and have been on track with my study schedule since then. I test 1 week from today, Saturday January 19, 2013 at 8 am and I'm definitely struggling with some anxiety right about now! These are my Kaplan Test scores:

Diagnostic Test: 67%

QT 1: 60%

QT 2: 67%

QT 3: 60%

QT 4: 63%

QT 5: 61%

QT 6: 67%

QT 7: 63%

Readiness Test: 68%

I'm doing Qbank questions Qday and my average so far is a 67% there. So my question is did anyone out there with similar scores to me pass the NCLEX on their first try? I have a job as an Emergency Department Nurse on the line as I start orientation January 28th - and I am praying that I pass in a week - I just want it to be OVER!!! I printed out the study guide floating around here & will study that along with my Kaplan review material. Any suggestions????

Thanks! And good luck to everyone out there who is in this same boat!!!!
