NCLEX & Transcripts

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi everyone,

I will be finished with my nursing program Nov 2009 and I am in the process of completing the paperwork to submit to the BRN in CA. My problem is that my degree won't be officially conferred and posted on my transcripts until Jan 2010. I wanted to know how long the BRN usually takes review the final application and send you the information that you will be able to test. Do they inform you via email or snail mail? Thanks for the help.

Where are you doing your training? If in Ca and the school sends in a list confirming you will graduate they usually let you sit the NCLEX before they receive your transcripts however they will not release your results until your file is complete and transcripts received

I have done my training in CA. If I sit for my boards before they recieve my transcripts, would that effect my license? I just want to make sure that I will be considered a degreed RN when I take my test.

You will not be issued a license until your transcripts are submitted and reviewed and only then will your results be posted (Pass or fail). Until you get a license issued you can not be considered a RN

I second that! You get cleared with your fingerprints, application and app fee. When the BON notifies that they have received that information (via snail mail) they will tell you what is missing. When I got that letter, then told me that they haven't received my transcripts. But I was still cleared about 2 weeks later. You can still test, you just won't get your results. I know a friend whose results were delayed because the fingerprinting facility he went to made an error on his paperwork and he had to wait 2 weeks before it cleared! :typing
