Navy NCP FY 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello,

Is anyone out there applying for the Nurse Candidate Program for FY19? I just started working on my packet last week, after I got my acceptance to an ABSN program. Started this forum for us to commiserate, share stats, and see other people's experiences while applying to the program.

Thank you ellebelle21, I wondering if I'd be too old. I'd be 35 at the time of package , and 37 by the time I graduate. I do have a lot of healthcare experience though. Not sure if that'd make up for my age.

It's definitely worth trying!!

Hello al! for those who were accepted, can you post your stats (GPA, references, volunteer/hospital experience)? I am applying for 2020 and my current GPA is 3.83. I want to know what my chances are lol. I don't know how competitive it is..

A 3.83 is really good! I got in with a 3.6. I have experience as an in home caregiver and a CNA, and a couple other jobs. I am the president of my SNA, and also involved in my college's Love Your Melon. I ended up with 9 references, either from my professors, employer, coworkers, and i also had one from a former Marine Corps colonel and a nurse anesthetist that I job shadow.

I just found out that I got accepted for an ABSN program beginning this August, and I would graduate August 2019. Despite graduating in 2019, would I be able to apply for the NCP FY20 round? It would have been impossible for me to apply earlier and make the deadline for FY19 due to the application deadline for my program being only February 15, 2018. Any insight is appreciated! I really am hoping something works out!

Hi, this may be an outdated thread, but I was accepted for NCP FY19. Would love to hear from anyone in FY18 or earlier that may be able to give an idea of when we get our first station. I read conflicting times, ranging from making our wish list 6 months before graduation to getting orders just before ODS. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. I also would like to know if anyone has had success with choosing a location outside of the Big 3? Thank you.

Hello all, the navy NCP is about to open in July so get your kit in. Contact a your local Navy medical officer recruiter is you haven't done so. It is a first come first serve program and very competitive. I am a Navy medical recruiter in the L.A. area. Please let me know if anyone is looking for a recruiter or info and I can help. My other email is [email protected] or [email protected]

Hi there everyone!

I was wondering if you are enrolled in a concurrent program where you attend a community college and university and end up with an associate and a BSN if you can still put in a package for NCP or is it only for straight BSN programs? Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hey guys ! I've been trying to apply for the NCP program for years, I can never reach a officer recruiter who specializes in Medical. The recruiters I've spoken to either do not know about the program or specialize in Enlistment. I live in the Las Vegas area and I am currently in Nurisng School and Graduate April 2019 with my ADN. I was planning to do an RN-BSN program right after as it is more cost effective for me. However if I can apply to the NCP I would be more than willing to transfer to the BSN program my school offers. Do we get the application packets from the recruiters?

Hi... I’m glad that I found this post. I know this posted since 2017. I am currently thinking to apply to NCP, I just couldn’t find a related post. How are you guys? Do all of you get accepted and does any of you have been starting working as Navy Nurse? How do you like it? How is the deployment?

I’m recent ADN new grads. I am planning to apply for NCP Program once I get accepted to RN-BSN Program. I am also currently still processing my citizenship, as one of the requirements is has to be citizen.

I am little bit hopeless. My cumulative GPA during ADN program is 2.77, I wonder if I am still qualify for NCP?

Any advices will be appreciated.

Thank you,

mery
