Navy Nursing/ NCP?
I was accepted to NCP for FY19. It's a great program and I can try to answer any questions you may have! Make sure that you talk to an officer recruiter not enlisted

Navy NCP FY 2019
A 3.83 is really good! I got in with a 3.6. I have experience as an in home caregiver and a CNA, and a couple other jobs. I am the president of my SNA, and also involved in my college's Love Your Melon. I ended up with 9 references, either from my professors, employer, coworkers, and i also had one from a former Marine Corps colonel and a nurse anesthetist that I job shadow.

The age cutoff is 41 but I know for FY19 a lot of people that applied who were close to that age were not accepted. And volunteer experience isn't required but would probably boost your application

Navy Nurse Candidate Program
Hi I am currently in NCP for FY 2019. If you don't meet height and weight requirements when you are in the program you will be placed on the Navy's Physical Enhancement Program at your first duty station. Not sure if not meeting the height and weight requirements disqualifies you from entering the program to begin with

Since you haven't begun college yet, you could start applying for NCP the spring of your freshman year and there would be 10 spots available. If you don't get accepted, you can apply again the spring of your sophomore year and there will be 65 spots available. I began applying spring of sophomore year and it's my first time applying. If you were to apply freshman year you have to already have acceptance into your BSN program. Normally about 125-150 apply, but this year had a very low number of applicants - no one knows the exact number but it is less than 100. And it is true, you don't have to do anything except for do well in school until you graduate:) The minimum GPA requirement is 3.0, but from what I've heard a low GPA can hurt your chances of getting in. A 3.5 or above is considered competitive for this program. If you have any more questions feel free to ask!:)

Navy Nursing Corps.
Hello, I applied for FY 2019 of the Navy Nurse Candidate Program. From what I have learned, Nurses in the Navy can deploy on the USNS Comfort and USNS Mercy. They do not typically get deployed on other ships because they do not have many RNs on those ships. Otherwise, they can be deployed in field hospitals. I'm not sure how often they get deployed, but if your contract is 5 years I believe you have a decent chance of deployment. ICU nurses have a greater chance of deployment. If you are looking to join the NCP is a great route! Currently waiting to hear back if I am accepted or not :)

I'm also applying for FY 2019, I just have a few papers left to sign and then my package will be complete. I have a 3.6 GPA. My recruiter told me that they take 65 people out of 125-150 applicants.

Navy Nurse Candidate Program
Hi, I'm a sophomore graduating in 2019 and I am currently in the process of applying for the Navy Nurse Candidate Program. I am just wondering how difficult it is to get into the program? I currently have a 3.5 GPA and should be around a 3.55 at the end of the semester. Does anyone know how many people usually apply and how many are accepted?
