Exceptionally disappointing.

Actually I see nothing listed for FY20. Only FY19 goals.

My recruiter gave me the same number for ED. 2 Er nurses. Sucks.

I'll take two at this point. Last year was a big fat zero for NPs. And I'm ready for board!

Have you been waiting that long? Ugh!

Yup. But to be fair my package and meps didn’t finish until the beginning of the year. We knew a few weeks into Fy19 they zeroed out fnp from 12 openings.

Just talked to my recruiter today and was told the same info for billets for 2020. Exceptionally disappointing is correct.

What are your backgrounds? Looking to get into critical care in the next few months so I can gain experience in the area they need. Been a nurse since 2016, just not in critical care. Yahoo.

Hopefully the wait is worth it!... It's gotta be, right?? ?

My recruiter told me the ER billets are already gone. Super annoying.

ER is my background. Don’t want anything else.

I hear ya, man. What's your plan?

Wait it out likely. May do some travel nursing. Wanted to relocate to San Diego. My refruiter is hopeful that not spots will open up during the year

You should definitely travel nurse. I went to TravCon this year and it was a blast! You should go 2020. If I was in the specialty I wanted to be in I would travel nurse... like yesterday.

Specializes in Psychiatry/Mental Health.

Anyone know if there’s any med surg or psych quotas left for FY20 for those applying for Jan/Feb boards?

Good Evening All,

I went to Officer Development School in AUG of 2018. I am currently stationed at Naval Hospital Guantanamo Bay. I came in as a MEDSURG nurse but I have recently attained my 1945 or emergency room SSC. Hang in there if you have already submitted a package with your recruiter. I was told it likely wasn't going to happen, then I was waitlisted, then I filled someone's spot who bailed and here I am... I'd definitely recommend going on with whatever you want to do but "hurry up and wait" is literally the unofficial motto of applying to the USN as a nurse... Hopefully I see you all at some point!! Good luck!!!

Oh wow! I’m applying for ER. Would love to chat more about your experiences as an ER nurse if you’re up for it.
