Anyone applying for Navy FY2020? If so, what are you specialities? Where are you in your packets?
And current navy RNs -- please tell me what your life was like from ODS to starting your career in the navy. I am slightly terrified!

Packet for FNP and MEPS clearance have been done for 6 months. Just waiting for the numbers and the openings.

Air force will be my next stop if things don't look better Navy-wise. I did 9 years in the AF and wanted a change.

I will be. I'm prior enlisted (worked in aviation for 4.5 years before I got out and went to nursing school) and and looking to continue in my current specialty as a labor and delivery nurse. Hoping that the FY2020 openings coming out in the next few weeks.

Why did you want to change? I was going back-and-forth between Navy and Air Force. I heard Air Force was better quality of life. I decided on Navy because I know more people in the Navy and it just felt better for me for some reason

Awesome! Were you prior enlisted in the Navy?
Yep! I was enlisted in the Navy from 2009-2013.

Two boys ended up in the navy. Wife kind of wants to be coastal. I don’t want to end up somewhere like minot nd.
just spoke to my recruiter and she’s pessimistic about fnp jobs opening in 2020. So getting my af package started.

I just talked to my recruiter and he said there are only 2 ER nurse slots open this FY. Having mild panic over this.

Exceptionally disappointing.
Actually I see nothing listed for FY20. Only FY19 goals.
