I thought I would start this blog for the NAU spring 2016 nursing program application cycle!
I take the Kaplan exam on March 11th and the application is due during spring break. (March 15th)
Just want to know who else is out there apply this cycle :)
Just for those asking about number accepted. I graduated from the Tucson program in December. Flagstaff accepts 30, Tucson takes 20, and Yuma takes 10. I believe the AIP program is also 10 but not certain on that. I believe this information is available on the NAU nursing website :)
Also, I'm like 99% sure it's the same committee that looks at all the applications and selects applicants--the exact same criteria is used for all campuses. There's a lot of continuity with all campuses through out the program. Hope that helps!
If you have any other questions I'm able to answers, let me know. Good luck!
I can only speak for the Tucson program, but I loved it. It's pretty small so it's a nice little community, which is my favorite part of it. The instructors are great and supportive and I feel like the program definitely prepared me for the NCLEX and a job (as much as nursing school can actually prepare you, I belive the whole "nursing school teaches you to pass the NCLEX, working teaches you to be a nurse" theory). I had applied to a couple different schools but looked back many times throughout my time so glad that I ended up at NAU.
That isn't to say the program doesn't have its flaws, but they're minor and any program you choose will have their own :) NAU is a great choice.
What are you doing to keep busy?
I wonder why NAU doesn't let people know when they are going to send them out. At our community college we get an email every time our application is under review, we have 3 total reviews. I was able to just log on to my email and see that my application was under which review. It was nice and took the edge off a little.
