NAU accelerated BSN 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Hi everybody! I just turned in my application for the summer 2018 ABSN program and thought I would start this page to see who else is applying. I took the Kaplan a couple days ago and got an 86 overall but a 65 on the science so now I'm a little worried!

Camel1881 -- Hey! That's a really good score! I don't know what they usually accept as far as the science portion goes though :/ I wish they would provide averages for accepted applicants or something. Oh well. Hopefully we don't have to wait too long to find out... My fingers are crossed for all of us! Do you guys live in the Flag area? I'm in Phoenix so it's not too far from me but I know a lot of people come from out of state.

You need at least a 65 to even apply, so I at least made the cut off! haha Fingers crossed for everyone for sure! I'm also in the Phoenix area

This is my first time applying! I'm a senior at U of A, so I'm pretty close too. Are any of you guys taking any of the prerequisite courses at the moment? I'm taking two so I'm not sure how much they take that into account??

Hey! I just applied as well. I have a 3.6gpa and got a 85 overall and 70 science so I feel like I'm sitting pretty average (who knows haha). Do we know how many people they take each year?? Anyone else applying from California?? :)

BrenMau, cool! I was just in Tucson a couple days ago (: I've been taking all my pre-reqs for the past year... I graduated in 2015. I have one more in progress this semester -- pathophysiology. So I'm not totally sure but I think they take off a point or maybe half a point for each class still IP from your total score. But I've read in past boards that people have had up to 3 classes still IP after application.

Chelsal... They take 30 people each year. In past years there's been roughly ~130 applicants. And I used to live in LA! But in Phx now. What part of cali are you?

I live in San Luis Obispo. I also have 1 class in progress but I talked with Brian the advisor and he said it shouldn't make a difference.

Good to know! I have 1 in progress too

Hi all,

I am currently a senior at NAU and just applied to the program. I was also just curious as to when we should be finding out if we were accepted or not? I am also worried about what the cut off scores will be I took the Kaplan and got an 87 overall with an 84 in the science portion. I know in the past they have accepted people with Kaplans much lower but I wish they would put an average to get an idea. Also waiting is such a nerve racking process I wish they notified you on if your application is being considered or not.

@naugrad2018 those scores sound great! I applied last year and was notified exactly 1 year ago today, 2/7/17, that I wasn't accepted. So I'm hoping it will be any day now. I am definitely getting more anxious and frequently checking my email!

Did anyone get a confirmation email that they received your application? Since it was sent in the mail I was not sure if they would send an email or not, but it just occurred to me that I never got one....

I never got one. I did get an email from someone saying they never got my Kaplan results (talk about a moment of panic!), so that's the only way I knew they had received my application and were reviewing it.

Okay that makes me feel a little better then! Hopefully they received it lol. I considered calling but I didn't want to annoy them, I'm sure they're stressed out
