NAU ABSN 2019

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hey everyone. I thought I'd see if anyone else on here is applying to NAU's accelerated BSN program this application cycle. Looking forward to hearing from anyone who is!

Just to be clear, y'all didn't actually register for any courses for the program, did you? I am assuming not since we already have every course lined out for the program.

@NurseGorder

Academic advisors do all of the registration for classes. I asked Megan Dale's about it 2 weeks ago and they said they would be starting the week of registration. Hopefully doesn't take to long so we can finally see what the aid(loan) situation will look like to prep for a private loan before school starts.

Has anyone received their Typhoon login instructions yet? Sharon told me a few weeks ago she was going to send them out in the next week, but I haven't received any email yet. The only communication I have received from them was the admissions decision so far.

I have. They should have sent it all to your nau email.

@KlcorbThank you! I found it, I wasn't checking my NAU email.

Getting close fellow students!

Be visiting Flagstaff from Cali this weekend to finally check out the town and scope out apartment buildings for affordability, upkeep, and convenience as I'll start applying to places in April.

Also noticed we have some classes now but no charges as of yet. Hoping that changes soon to see if my predictions are accurate.Getting my last mmr on Wednesday and I'll have all my paperwork/documents finally done.

Gonna look into downloading some textbooks via seedy websites to save money. Maybe try and snag a good steth on eBay or find some books there too.

Will be on the phone with financial aid this upcoming Tuesday for a scheduled 1 on 1 session to figure out the loan situation and what will be offered in summer. Will be asking about the Federal nursing loan program as well as what is certifiable (as far as amount) for private loans (as well as if they are two separate loans or one combined since summer is a different year).

Any questions you guys want me to ask them in regards to WUE or general payment stuff? Let me know and I'll get that info.

Cheers!

Any exciting news for us @Cpt ATP ?

@NurseGorder I think it's good news.

It appears limit for summer is 12500 since we didn't go to school for this past year(im assuming you guys didn't though, if you did then your aid may look different). They said they would package our aid in lat April, which is kind of a long time to hold my breath lol.

Are you guys seeing a charge on your student centers? I see I'm enrolled in classes but I don't owe anything which is keeping the financial aid office from seeing anything on their end. I'll try and figure this out with nursing/registrar.

They said that it depends on need, but I presume that we will qualify for max loan since summer tuition will be large not including living expenses.

Another good note is that the advisor believes that we will qualify for the Federal nursing loan program that may open the door for $4000 for each academic year( might include summer too). So that would be 8k in possible aid at 5% interest with Federal deferment and grace period.

As for me I went ahead and secured a large private loan to fund my program for the possible remainder and any scholarships/nursing loans will be thrown right back at the lender.

It's kind of a big move for me and my GF but luckily we made the journey to visit Flagstaff this weekend and went ahead and got a lease on an apartment so that is all good to go for may!

Got a stethoscope, scissors, pen light, couple of navy scrubs that I'll get embroidered, and have finished all my documentation.

Called registrar and student accounts and they said mid to late April is when summer semester gets charged. It lines up with financial aid saying they won't have financial packages set up til late April. Just a waiting game, but calculated tuition should be accurate.

Hey all! I'm currently in this program and have several items that I'd be interested in selling to you guys or just giving away depending on the item. I have 2 embroidered scrub tops (size XXS.. they run pretty big, so for true comparison, I'm a 5'7 125lb female and they fit me great) and several books that we need throughout the year. Feel free to private message me for my phone number if you're interested in taking a look. ?

@ACAZ92 I just PM'd you ?

This might be a dumb question, but does anyone know how we are supposed to submit our documents through Typhon? The instructions page that they sent with the admissions decision doesn't exactly say a whole lot. Thanks!!
