Hello to everyone that is applying for Cohort 58 ABSN program at the San Diego location for National University. This is going to be my first time to apply. Getting more nervous as the October Application date approaches. I feel confident in my scores for the TEAS test and my current GPA from the core sciences required, but this essay is starting to make my stomach spin. I've met with a writing advisor at Spectrum Writing Center, so I feel prepared in what to expect to be successful in writing this proctored essay, but will it be enough?
I've spoken with one other that has applied to Cohort 58 as well. Wondering if there is anyone else out there on this same journey feeling the same way I am.
I am excited to hear from anyone attempting to apply for this Cohort!
I'm right there with you Oliver. 86 on my TEAS 3.84 GPA. You are in a great position like I am to just focus on the Essay. I also believe I can increase my TEAS a bit, but the energy and effort it will take may take away from focusing on being ready for the essay.
You should be very happy with that great score. I pretty much threw myself a party when I got my 86. Weight lifted off my shoulder and now I feel more confident going into it the second time. You've done the hardest part already and hope that we can both get into this next cohort. Looking for great study partners that have the same intense drive to succeed like I do. Hope to find a core group of 4-5 people to really push each other to be the best we can be.
Looking at your scores, you are sitting very pretty.
gpa 36 points
teas 34.68 points.
Total 70.68
The minimum for most cohorts recently for acceptance or alternate have been around 84.5...
A 4/5 on your essay can be 16 points, easily putting you 86.68 points. You could even 3.5/5 and get 14 points to add making your score 84.68.
Shoot for that 5/5, but you still have some cushion.
Good luck on the 15th everyone!
Hi all, My application and scores are transferred over to this cohort because after 6 weeks of waiting to see if I got in to the LVN - BSN program, they are not having a cohort 11 at all! It's pretty unbelievable.
I spoke with the Nursing dept today and there were 140 or so applicants for cohort 58 and 42 or 43 applicants for the LVN-BSN cohort 11.
Good luck to everyone testing next week!
.....
Congrats on getting bumped up to Cohort 57. Saw your post on previous cohort page.!
I like the number of 140 applicants. I wonder how the addition of LVN-BSN applicants is going to change the acceptance rates. Seems very sudden for you guys to just now find out about this. You would of had almost a 50% chance of getting in if 42 applied. Now with adding them to the Cohort 58 applicants pool really does change things. Thanks for the update Janice11!

I took the TEAS today for the first time and got an 86.7.... this is with mass amounts of studying.... like 1.5 -6 hours a day for the last month...and fresh out of A&p 1 and 2...I felt like it was easier and harder at the same time... regarding how they worded some of the questions. I literally had no idea how I was going to do... I was told to score between a 84-88 to be competitive so I'm torn on how to feel about it because I feel I hit the middle of my goal but I also have heard of a lot of people with my gpa (3.6) and 90 and higher teas scores applying into this cohort. Thoughts? I want to retake it on 11/15 with my essay but I feel like most of my time should be dedicated to prepping for my essay and not obsessing over studying for the teas
