National University SD Cohort 57 - Jan 2019

Published

Hi all!

My name is Claire and I am going to be applying for my last chance to get into the NU ABSN program in San Diego. I've attempted two times previously and have been denied. First time I believe I missed the cut off by a point or two so I improved my TEAS and essay then applied again and was denied by 3/4 of a point which was pretty devastating but I wasn't going to give up. I went and retook Micro because that was my only C and got an A so now I'm going in with an 89% TEAS, 3.75/5 on the essay and I think a 3.75. I missed the this more recent cohort 56 cutoff but I plan to apply to the next one in July and hopefully raise my TEAS and essay. I'm just so nervous because this is my last chance! I've basically disqualified myself from other institutions because I took the TEAS too many times and some of my prereq's are expired according to other colleges. This is literally my dream and I won't give up! Any one else applying and can share the pain lol :)

That's exactly what I am worried about. I did get like 2 1/2 sentences into my conclusion so I am hoping it won't be too big of a hit on my scoring since I was close to finishing. I guess it'll come down to the professor's themselves. Here's to the waiting game.

So for those of us who took the teas/writing portion on the 20th and 21st, when is the soonest that we will hear any update from (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME)?

(MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) stated that probably the lasted would be beginning of October.

here are the dates of when I took the teas /essay and when I got the email letting me know if I got in.

So only 3-4 more weeks. Hopefully the time flies by.

If my estimates are correct, 5-6 weeks from Aug. 20 & Aug. 21 could mean we hear from (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) between now and next week right? Am I the only one logging into the NU portal every day to check the nursing application status?

Unfortunately no, I spoke to her Several days ago , we won't hear anything until the 1st or 2nd week of October.

Thanks for the quick reply and update.

Wow that's much later than I thought it would be. I thought 9/24-10-1....I'm still hoping, haha!

Is anyone hoping to hold either a part time or full time job during the program? I'm hoping to and hoping I'm not alone :/ I was told a part time is doable but I can't seem to find out concretely our schedule.

Go get em Craig. I ended up with 4.0 and a 82 on the TEAS. I feel like I did well on the essay. Kept it right at 2 pages and felt confident on my prompt. Only time will tell. Another week or two and I should know. Will keep you posted dude!

My plan is to work part time, if I get in. It's so expense here, that it'll be hard not to for me. I'm going to try to find something in the medical field so that I can maybe apply what we learn. Hopefully the results come out sooner.
