National University SD Cohort 57 - Jan 2019

Published

Hi all!

My name is Claire and I am going to be applying for my last chance to get into the NU ABSN program in San Diego. I've attempted two times previously and have been denied. First time I believe I missed the cut off by a point or two so I improved my TEAS and essay then applied again and was denied by 3/4 of a point which was pretty devastating but I wasn't going to give up. I went and retook Micro because that was my only C and got an A so now I'm going in with an 89% TEAS, 3.75/5 on the essay and I think a 3.75. I missed the this more recent cohort 56 cutoff but I plan to apply to the next one in July and hopefully raise my TEAS and essay. I'm just so nervous because this is my last chance! I've basically disqualified myself from other institutions because I took the TEAS too many times and some of my prereq's are expired according to other colleges. This is literally my dream and I won't give up! Any one else applying and can share the pain lol :)

I'm sure there's been multiple answers on this but how many times can one apply to NU's nursing program??

You get 3 tries at NU

This is the longest week ever.

I know! I keep thinking today's the day and checking my phone for emails and the website 4629272947292 times a day. Lol going a little crazy over here haha.

I hope it's tomorrow! I do remember one of the last times I saw "denied" before I got the email. It was where it says "submitted not" so I keep checking that every second too.

Claire I'm sure you are as good as gold this time and it will be a giant relief when you see "accepted!"

I'm guessing tomorrow is the day, I hope its in the morning.

Hello everyone.... so I just spoke with (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME), she stated that we would likely hear tomorrow or early monday. Who knows. I just want to see "accepted" already!

I really hope it's tomorrow since that's what they said in their email. The waiting is driving me crazy.

I hope it's tomorrow, I have so much riding on this admission.

Yeah seriously. I'm really bummed she even said possibly Monday to mc32711. I'm way too anxious to wait the weekend.

Hey guys. I just applied today for the accelerated PB cohort 58. I am really freaked because I saw someone posted on here that repeats hurt you and I have a couple repeats (ended up with A's) in physiology and anatomy. Where did you get this information because every advisor at National including (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) who computed my GPA score as 3.6 said they ONLY look at/ consider your last attempt. I also take the TEAS through ATI on 10/29... I want to see how I do. Then if I need to repeat it I'll take it with National 3-6 weeks out from 10/19... how long after you guys applied did you take it? (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) told me I need an 84-88 on the TEAS to be competitive with a 4-4.5 on the essay. I ordered the ATI complete study package and have been studying 4-6 hours a day and I am so overwhelmed and feel like I'm relearning everything. Now I am even more freaked out after looking at past forums and people's thoughts on the essay! Please let me know!

Me too. My life and sanity is at stake lol

Have you heard that they mark off points for number of repeats?? This is the first time I am hearing of this. If anything (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) encouraged me to retake micro to get an A to take place of my B and C but since I have a strong 3.6 I figured I would save myself 2300 and just really push for the highest I can on the TEAS and essay!
