National University SD Cohort 57 - Jan 2019

Hi all!

My name is Claire and I am going to be applying for my last chance to get into the NU ABSN program in San Diego. I've attempted two times previously and have been denied. First time I believe I missed the cut off by a point or two so I improved my TEAS and essay then applied again and was denied by 3/4 of a point which was pretty devastating but I wasn't going to give up. I went and retook Micro because that was my only C and got an A so now I'm going in with an 89% TEAS, 3.75/5 on the essay and I think a 3.75. I missed the this more recent cohort 56 cutoff but I plan to apply to the next one in July and hopefully raise my TEAS and essay. I'm just so nervous because this is my last chance! I've basically disqualified myself from other institutions because I took the TEAS too many times and some of my prereq's are expired according to other colleges. This is literally my dream and I won't give up! Any one else applying and can share the pain lol :)

I'm also applying and very nervous. This is my first time applying. I take my teas next Wednesday. I think my GPA is a 3.54 (not completely sure b/c my classes are from 3 different schools). We got this!

You said you disqualified because you took the TEAS too many times?? I hadn't heard that before!!

I'm reapplying for cohort 57 with you all :) I missed alternate in the last cycle and I was totally bummed. The cutoff was 85.99 and I scored 85.2! So I'm retaking my TEAS on Wednesday and studying for the essay again. Good luck everyone!

Also, for this drug test, does any one know if marijuana is considered a no-go? As it is recreational now.

Hi Claire! I wish you the best of luck getting in this time around, I hope you make it! Do you remember what was your prompt for the essay? And do you have any helpful tips?

I'm planning to apply for Cohort 58, I took the my TEAS a couple months ago and scored an 84%, I believe my GPA is around 3.7. I'm currently taking my Biomedical Stats class and will finish by the beginning of next month, following that I would have to take the essay portion in order to apply.
