Hi all!
My name is Claire and I am going to be applying for my last chance to get into the NU ABSN program in San Diego. I've attempted two times previously and have been denied. First time I believe I missed the cut off by a point or two so I improved my TEAS and essay then applied again and was denied by 3/4 of a point which was pretty devastating but I wasn't going to give up. I went and retook Micro because that was my only C and got an A so now I'm going in with an 89% TEAS, 3.75/5 on the essay and I think a 3.75. I missed the this more recent cohort 56 cutoff but I plan to apply to the next one in July and hopefully raise my TEAS and essay. I'm just so nervous because this is my last chance! I've basically disqualified myself from other institutions because I took the TEAS too many times and some of my prereq's are expired according to other colleges. This is literally my dream and I won't give up! Any one else applying and can share the pain lol :)
They no longer mark off points for repeats but for specific questions I would ask the nursing department for sure! There is a ton of Mis-information out there. Good luck!
Have you heard that they mark off points for number of repeats?? This is the first time I am hearing of this. If anything (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) encouraged me to retake micro to get an A to take place of my B and C but since I have a strong 3.6 I figured I would save myself 2300 and just really push for the highest I can on the TEAS and essay!
What was your teas score?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I just called (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) and she said that they are still waiting on one faculty member to return the essays... the supervisor will be staying late in Hope's that they'll be able to turn everything in tonight but I was told to prepare myself to wait till Monday.
Sorry guys, I was just relaying the information I received. I received the same information from (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) about the faculty member and needing one last set of essays. Which is highly annoying considering this is the last thing between 150 individuals receiving information on admissions. Also Monday is a holiday so I hope that doesn't interfere with the results as well.

(MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) would be the best person to get the information from.
