National University SD Cohort 39

Published

Hello, Im creating a thread for those who are applying to National University SD cohort 39 starting july 2014. I figured we can all post our experience through this process of applying.

Applepeach,

My science gpa is good but I did really bad on the teas (around 70) - I think I just underestimated the science section and probably didn't study enough. I was expecting more human body science - instead, I got a lot of physics, earth science, and chemistry questions. To be honest, I was surprised that I even got alternate with that score, but I guess my gpa and essay (and full points for attempts) helped me out. It's frustrating because I'm pretty much an A student, so I should have done way better on that test! Live and learn...if I have to take it again I'll definitely study smarter.

Two weeks to go!! I guess I'm hopeful, but if I don't make it I'll just try again. Let's hope that enough people back out, lol!

Applepeach just type it in manually because I don't think this system allows links for some reason. the address is :

applepeachgpa DOT weebly DOT com

Remember to change the DOT to a . when you type it in.

It will pop right up for you, I just checked and it is still there. I really feel for you both having to wait until March for an alternate seat. I really hope you get in! Good luck. Let me know if you do. :)

Decitroulle,

That's really good that your GPA is high:yes: If you don't get in, you now know what the TEAS and essay exam are like so you will do better next time:roflmao: I think that our points are pretty similar:rolleyes:

Ann Apple,

Thank you so much for your help! I will let you know how I do in a couple weeks! I will be waiting to hear a good news from you soon:whistling:

It's so funny that your calculation showed that my GPA was 25.545 which I got the same number too. But JJ told me that I got 24.8906. I know the difference is so small, but it could make a difference, right?? It's so strange. I emailed him, but he said that his score was correct.

That is actual a really big difference. 0.06544 more than half of a point in fact. I was able to statistically determine that I was separated from a seat in cohort 38 by about X amount of students. I was around X on the list of 50 seats. The important part in this however is that the difference in points is so small right in that range that any boost will help put you at ahead, even if its is only in front of one colleague because all you need one seat. I am in no way however suggesting the the nursing department miscalculated. I am not sure if we have missed something. Double check that none of those grades have a minus next to it. Also, you can refer to the college catalog which has an explanation of how they calculate the GPA for the nursing application. I hope this helps. Keep your fingers crossed and say a prayer we all get in!

it seems like the wait is killing us. its almost 1 AM right now and I see that there are 3 people reading this thread lol.

a lot of people got really high scores but good luck to all of us! I really hope that we can all get in

Alright, I am hoping tomorrow is the day!

I didn't expect that this waiting part is sooo hard!! :coldfeet::banghead:

I could almost hear my heartbeat whenever I log in to SOAR portal!! :nailbiting:

I hope we find out tomorrow !!!! That would be amazing. Anyone know what the average is for our cohort before the test?

kris1022,

Do you mean what the last cohort scored for acceptance? I think it was 83.49 if that's what you are asking for. This pins and needles thing is getting to me, !!!

Who is ready for the answer on Tuesday? Sign you name below.

MEEEEE!!!!!! As of tomorrow it will be the 3 week mark JJ quoted me at the essay/test date. Fingers crossed :nurse:

I was wondering what our cohort average was before the essay. I know last cohort 38 score. Just seeing if any advisors gave an average before the essays. I'm defiantly ready to hear the results.

Hi Xot Whatts,

I cannot open your attachment; it says "connection error." Maybe it's just my connection?
