National University SD Cohort 39
Does this mean we have to wait until April 18th to find out?

National University SD Cohort 39
That is actual a really big difference. 0.06544 more than half of a point in fact. I was able to statistically determine that I was separated from a seat in cohort 38 by about X amount of students. I was around X on the list of 50 seats. The important part in this however is that the difference in points is so small right in that range that any boost will help put you at ahead, even if its is only in front of one colleague because all you need one seat. I am in no way however suggesting the the nursing department miscalculated. I am not sure if we have missed something. Double check that none of those grades have a minus next to it. Also, you can refer to the college catalog which has an explanation of how they calculate the GPA for the nursing application. I hope this helps. Keep your fingers crossed and say a prayer we all get in!

Applepeach just type it in manually because I don't think this system allows links for some reason. the address is : applepeachgpa DOT weebly DOT com Remember to change the DOT to a . when you type it in. It will pop right up for you, I just checked and it is still there. I really feel for you both having to wait until March for an alternate seat. I really hope you get in! Good luck. Let me know if you do. :)

New Curriculum at National University
BSN hopefuls are anxiously awaiting the publication of the new BSN curriculum which will include changes to the current prerequisites at National University in La Jolla, CA. While they have released some details as to which classes will be required in the future and which classes are no longer a prerequisite- many questions remain. Some students are currently awaiting a response to the submission of their application to Nursing Cohort 39. The new curriculum will be required of Nursing Cohort 40. The Cohort 39 applicants have just learned of the new requirements. Some of these students have spent months of effort and thousands of dollars fulfilling the former prerequisites, many of which are not useful to other university applications. Several of these classes will no longer be useful at National University with regards to their BSN program. It is common that NU has approximately 170 applications for their cohorts yet only have 50 seats to offer. It remains uncertain however if NU plans on allowing the students continue on with the prerequisites that were published in the catalog at the time they began their course of study. This situation can prove to be very costly if for example four of the prerequisite classes that have already been completed were eliminated and four new ones were added. With the private pay (not military or government paid) tuition at 1512 per class this could end up costing the student 12,096 dollars. They will also be in a pinch to grab these classes, some of which are not yet in the schedule. These new prerequisites could take six months to a year to complete if the sections do not get added to the schedule soon.

WS- I tested around the 24th and was told that either we would know in 2 or 3 weeks- or- we would know in the 2nd or 3rd week of Feb. At the time I was just happy to have finished the exam and didn't write it down. Now that I am on the edge of my seat, I wish I would have. Come Monday the new curriculum should be posted. Therefore it would be a great day to have an answer.

Hi WS...when did you write an email to the dept? When did they give you that response? Did it have JJs signature or was it generic?

Applepeach you currently have a 25.65 without the labs, so depending on how good you did in the labs will determine your GPA score.

Meanwhile if we are supposed to have the new curriculum on the 17th, then do you suppose we will know of our status before hand?

Non-Impacted Nursing Schools
California has the largest population of nursing student hopefuls in our region. Some schools have several hundred applicants for as few as 20 or 40 seats. With all of my prerequisites complete and GPA of 3.51 I am considering schools in other states. I can move anywhere since I have no obstacles that would prevent me from moving. The most important things to me in a nursing school is ratio of student / instructor, pass rate of grads on their first NCLEX, tuition, and the RATIO OF SEATS AVAILABLE / APPLICANTS. Please feel free to give me your best suggestions across the nation, either a school that you have attended or one you have heard about. Also include your experience at your school and any other advice you feel would be helpful. I am looking for a great school! ? I can go to any US State so don't be shy with your suggestions. AZ, NM, AK, AL FL, WY. Just tell where you believe the choices are.

That's seven more apples. Ann Apple a day, hahahaha. I hope my essay turns out OK. I think it was written very well. I am hoping the people who read it love it as much as I do. This is my second try at NU. My first essay was written poorly and I only received 3. This time I nailed it on the essay so there should be no question of receiving at least a four. That is, since the last essay was substandard and I received a 3, I think it makes sense that a stellar essay would be a four. But you just never know. Does anyone have any thoughts on that? How were your essay experiences here at NU? Please share...Thanks.
