Hello, Im creating a thread for those who are applying to National University SD cohort 39 starting july 2014. I figured we can all post our experience through this process of applying.
wow someone was actually able to get a perfect score on their essay. for cohort 37, the highest was 19 and the lowest was 9, which is what i got LOL... my prompt was "how could i contribute to the nursing profession." i really didn't know how to answer it especially since i don't have any work or volunteer experience so im glad i didn't get the same question this time
My friend got the 'describe why nursing is both an art and science' and she was floored. She didn't know how to answer that one, really caught her off guard. She got accepted to 38 though because her GPA was really high. She was sure she was the one who got the 8 for essay, but she only needed a 2.
My prompt was also, "How do you see yourself contributing to the nursing profession"? My first application period I knew I screwed up on the essay, bad So, going into my second application period I took writing classes, got tutored and did some major brainstorming before hand. It just so happened that my second application period I got the same question. We shall see if I improved my writing skills
I don't think we will find out today either... I just got this from my advisor..
"Unfortunately the Nursing program has not yet decided exactly what the new curriculum is going to be, they at one point told us but decided they wanted to make different changes and will not inform us exactly what those changes will be until March 1st. As far finding out if you were accepted there is no way to speed up the process, I know the nursing program is trying to speed up the process by having people take the TEAS and proctored written essay within two to three weeks as opposed to 1-2 months of application but they are still sticking with 3-4 months prior to finding out. At least previously students did not find out until after the next application date (April)."
So now it looks like the new curriculum didn't roll out yet

What does this have to do with us? our application period closed 1/17. Also the next cohort doesn't open until 3/1.

this is it... we (maybe) only have a few more hours left to wait. i applied for cohort 37 and i remember that those who got in to the program received an email earlier than the rest.
