National University SD Cohort 59 July19

Published

Hello future nurses,

I have recently applied to cohort 57 for National University in SD and was denied then decided to skip cohort 58 and get more study time in for the next cohort. I am not as nervous as I was in the first time I applied, people seem to be getting higher and higher teas scores which makes the program more difficult to get into, which is good it challenges all of us. When I took the essay i was super scared and didn't practice all the prompts, I didn't score well but scored better then I though I would have.

I am excited to hear from others that will be applying for the cohort 59 for July 2019!

Hi All-

I’ll being joining you for Cohort 59! I called National Advising and they gave me my scores over the phone in 5 minutes. Does anyone know where to pay the initial deposit? Oh, my name is Patrick ?

Hi Patrick!

Thank you for the info. I was wondering the same about the deposit.

See you in May!

Congrats! ? I’m sure you did great on your essay, so what’s your advice?! ??

So I got my scores back last week and got a 4.5 on my essay. I do not think I am a good writer so the essay was my biggest concern. What "I" did to prepare was watch a few random videos about the 5 paragraph essays, and reviewed thesis statements again to make sure I could write one. Other than that I do not actually think I answered the prompt very well, but I think I had a very hook and conclusion (It was kind of like a comedy special where they tell a joke at the front and then it is tied into the very last joke) Told a vague story at front and then in conclusion the great reveal the story was about me.

Hey! Thanks so much for the helpful feedback. Here I go again for the next cohort! ?

Hi all, I declined my acceptance for other pursuits. I wish you the very best of luck in achieving your nursing dreams.

You all have such a passion for this profession, and I envy that. After some critical thinking, I do not find myself to have the same passion. I hope one of you that wasn't accepted gets pulled up as you are much more deserving for this new chapter.

Hey,

So, did you figure out anything about the deposit?

Hello sufindi-

Yeah, I called them. I guess it pops up on our SOAR account a week before pre-orientation.

Hello all,

I am looking around for school to do the lvn to bsn program and I am so overwhelmed with information. I have a couple of simple questions and I am hoping you guys can help me.

Is national university offering this program?

How long is the whole program?

How much is the whole program?

Are they offering the pre-reqs? or I have to take it at a community college?

What is the passing score for TEAS?

I really hope you guys can help me.

Thank you!

Has anyone repeated their essay and got a better score? I have a 4/5 and am not sure if I should study for the essay portion or focus on my TEAS ? which I’m at a 84? I’m short about 2 point of the cutoff for the last cohort?

Has anyone been able to pay the deposit yet? I can't find any links in my SOAR account?

Hi Everyone! So does anyone know if this first class is a hybrid or fully on-line? I know Dr. Ho said it was a hybrid but in SOAR it is saying online so I'm confused. And Blackboard? No clue.

Thanks,

Patrick

First class Nursing Theory is half in class, half online. Meet only once a week for 5 hours for 4 times through the month.
