National University San Diego

Has anyone had any luck with applying at National University for their nursing program? I applied back in Oct 06 and have been waiting to hear from them. They are supposed to notify in 3 months. I have called and called and written email upon emails with no response really. :banghead: Please, if anyone has applied and received some sort of letter, I would greatly appreciate your reply.

thanks prettyinpink57! I understand you can put in requests and they are pretty good at accomodating them for clinicals. How many days a week do you have clinicals?

Hello everybody. I was in the April Cohort but I decided that it would be best to start in July. The logistics of an April start were to much to work out. So now I am going to start in July.

I have a quick question, I currently only have 3 more prereqs left, the problem is that my last prereq will be completed on August 27th but the deadline to apply for the April 2011 cohort is on August 20th. Has anyone ran into this problem before? Will they let me submit my application 7 days late, after all it is my last class. By the way congrats to everyone that made it into the program, I'm hoping to get some of the luck that people are claiming from posting to this discussion board. Thanks again.

socalsi, I am almost positive they will take your application. You just need to write up a page that states you are taking a course at national and you will finish 7 days late of the deadline. This page will accompany your application when you turn it in. Just make sure to email the nursing lady to confirm this.

socalsi: Hi, I ran into the exact same problem, only my semester ended 4 days after the deadline. They told me no exceptions. I would have applied for the January cohort, but they said they would not accept my application. I was really angry of course, so also asked again at the Nursing Forum. They confirmed it. I do not know if they have changed anything, but I would suggest getting in touch with your adviser and asking them. You can even email the nursing department and ask them also. Good luck to you!

When I went to the forum, they said that you could submit your application as long as you notify them that your grade hasn't posted yet and you are taking the class at National. I believe several people have done this. BTW, regular advisors at National are relatively worthless. Have you attended a pre-nursing forum yet? Those are the best places for information, and you are required to attend one.

Ok, that makes me really mad. They told me that I could not...now I could have got into the January cohort? Pffft. Oh well. If they do let you, I am very happy for you socalsi! Are you taking the last class at NU? If you are, then that might be the reason they all said no to me. Anyhoo, enough rant, good luck you guys!
