National University BSN Program

Published

the anticipation is killing me!! after working hard for 2 years i finally completed my application to national university for their Accelerated BSN program. i took the teas 5 just over a week ago and am expecting my acceptance/rejection letter during the first week of june. even though it is just 3 weeks away, it seems like a lifetime! if i am accepted i will be joining the october 2011 cohort. anyone else going to nu during this time?

Cheyenne,

Thanks for your reply, it's relaxed me a bit to know that if I don't get into this cohort, I may get called into the next. Did your friend have to reapply, or did she just sit on a waiting list? I'm so stressed and wish my letter would just come in the mail already! I'm sorry to hear about your disappointment but keep your hopes up, you never know, and at least the next application period is this month... What did you score on your teas if you don't mind me asking? Good luck girl, well all make it in eventually! :)

she did re-apply for the october cohort, but she is able to start next month so she won't be in the october cohort any longer. I scored below 70 :o on the teas that's why I know that I won't be able to get in. I'm also in the BS CLS class just in case nursing is not meant for me ;) but I will try again in the next cohort, I don't know I'll see...

Cheyenne, the program average for TEAS 5 is 68%, there's still hope!

Still "in review"

Thanks Ms. Kitty, do you know by any chance what's the cut off score they accepted? Is this your first time taking the TEAS V? How do you think you did? I did terrible...but I will definitely keep my hopes up!

I read in the email they sent that they are going to release everyones scores in about two weeks. I think they are holding out to see who is going to accept their acceptance. If there is anyone who drops out, they will go to the next on the list. I think it is too soon to tell. I have read of people finding out they did make it in until just before orientation.

I have been denied acceptance and know how it feels, but here I am starting nursing school just less then one year after one of the greatest disappointments of my life so dont give up hope!

Thanks Zeto, I am definitley keeping my hopes up and you never know, there's a lot of people who apply to multiple programs, maybe someone will decline their acceptance and I'll get in? If not, I'm keeping my hopes up that if I don't get into cohort 28, maybe I'll be joining 29 in January. Was this your first time applying to National? Where did you get denied at other schools? Keep posting, and congrats :yeah:to all who recieved their acceptance already!!!

first time at national. I applied to grossmont CC in the fall and was denied, and it was really hard. I was taking chemisty at the time and half my class had applied at the same time as me and got in. If this is not your time just reapply, turn that sadness into determination!

Oh don't worry, I haven't given up hope! I have been denied in the past by some cc's, I've been waiting on wait lists since 2008 and when they changed the applications to the point system, I decided to give it a go at national. I really look forward to getting in at national though because I've heard great things about the program and it's quicker than getting my AA at a Jr college. If I don't get in for this cohort I'm Definitley gonna get a breakdown of my application score and try again! Thanks for the positivity! And Congrats!

Thanks for that encouragement, I have applications at different colleges too. I'm still on the waiting list at Palomar and denied acceptance at Mira Costa (I was supposed to start last January) but I had my mind set to get my nursing done at NU since I like their one course a month. I'm starting to think that I made the biggest mistake in my life when I let that opportunity passed. And here I am still trying to get in to the program and I'm 50 50. I will try again in the next cohort and if I still don't get in, I guess I'll give up on nursing and focus on finishing up my CLS. It's just sad to think that I have a 50% chance to let go of my dream :crying2:

Cheyenne, there are so many programs and universities that offer nursing, you might as well apply if you already have the classes for it! Look into Kaplan, grossmont, and U of Pheonix

Well... I have been reading this and waiting in the wings. I applied but was denied. I have no idea why though. I had all A's on the pre-reqs except 1 B+. I scored a 88% on the TEAS V. I put my heart into my essay and passed all my classes first try. Good luck to those that made it.

Good Luck to those of you still waiting...and I'm sorry to those of you who got denied. Bioman you should e-mail the school and find out what your admission score breakdown is. I'm honestly shocked you didn't get in. The only thing I can think that may have held you back was your essay. That's the only thing that makes any sense. I'm sorry to hear about your denial. With those grades and TEAS score you should re-apply right away... Good luck!
