Has anyone Interviewed for NSCC ADN program? please share

I tried to order my background check, and it is saying that it cant go through till i pay with a cashier's check or money order. i thought we could use debit/credit.....what did yours say?

I used my husbands visa check card and had no problems. I received a confirmation e-mail and another e-mail stating that I had 2 weeks from today to take the drug test. Maybe you can call them to see if there website is momentarily down. Good luck

Did youu enter that information before going through the last step.....when I go to track my order it says pending recceipt of payment

Kay2010...I ordered it around 5am this morning. I think I entered all the information before the last step. Your e-mail will clearly state that your payment has been received with a thank you note. It will also give you the tracking number. I don't believe you get a tracking number unless your payment was received successfully because this e-mail is your receipt. Approx four hours later I received another e-mail about the drug screen. This e-mail noted that I must do it within two weeks and gave me a list of Lacorps in Madison county. I would call them to check.

Does anyone fully understand the schedule that we were given? I know that Monday is a full day and clinical's don't start until after Fall break. Does this mean that we are separated into five groups and whichever group we are assigned to, is the time frame that we go to on Wednesday?I am reading it as we only have 1.5 days the first semester. One full day Monday and the half semester of skills and second half clinical's.

Hmmm good question Jen2881. My notes, from the meeting, state that we will have 2 and half days a week during the first semester. I only see 1 and a half days on the sheet though, so I'm not sure. I received the same 2 e-mails when I ordered my background check last week. I'll be taking the drug test sometime this week and my mom charged it. At this point, I am so confused that I can't wait for the meeting on Wednesday:uhoh3:

I was under the impression that we would have class 2 1/2 days after fall break, and only 1 1/2 days till fall break

It was my understanding that classroom lecture was 8-3:30 Monday, and a 3 hour skills lab for the first six weeks. After fall break, 5 hours of clinicals would be added. The sheet we were given was confusing because if looks like it is skills lab for six weeks, then clinicals for sex weeks. But I remember it being said that the skills labs were for the entire semester. So, it looks like an almost 8 hour day on Monday, a three hour lab, and, after six weeks, a five hour clinical. I really don't see why why we are so strongly discouraged from working.

Why is all the lecture on the same day?? Also, what is the deal with the pharmacology??????????? One hour a week will net a one credit hour class. Do we have to take this every semester? Why does she do it live this? I am beginning to doubt the program.

I think I got it now... All day Monday is lecture...Next is 3 hours of skills lab on Wed, Thur or Friday, depending upon which group you fall in. That would be 1 and a half days prior to Fall break... After Fall break it will be the whole day Monday and your scheduled skills day along with your scheduled clinical day. That would be 2 and a half days. If this is correct I am not sure why we were discouraged not to work. The only thing that I can think of is all the study time that we will need. They mentioned, at the last meeting, that some chapters would not be discussed in class lecture and that we would be responsible for knowing them for the test. Or we may just have more class days with each preceding semester. I sure hope everyone has all their questions ready for tomorrow, as this will be our last chance to ask any!!!!!!!!!!

My post was suppose to read " Thank you Readergirl, I think I got it now. After you explained it to us :)

You're welcome jelly bean......

I think of it this way....a full day, a 3-hour day, and, after six weeks, a 5-hour day. I really don't understand why we can't work. I know that the 5 hours of clinicals will be exhausting because we'll be on our feet all day - I for one am used to sitting behind a desk. Still, I don't understand the prohibition against working even part time.

I do have another question though...Clinical's are on the same day as skills lab and from 7-1. If we do clinical's we wont be able to do skills within the time lines provided...We can't be at skills from 9-1 or 1-4 when we are at clinical's from 7-1 on any day...The only thing I can figure now is that we have skills before break and clinical's after. This would put us back at 1 and half days this semester. Any thoughts???:uhoh3:

I think that we will be assigned skill lab and clinicals on separate days. There is no way that we will be able to learn all the skills there is to know in 6 weeks. I believe we will have skill lab during the entire program. I'm also not sure why we are discouraged to work. I know this program will be challenging but everyone is different. I'm going to still work but if it becomes too much I will quit because the nursing program will come first.

Everyone please ask all the questions you have tomorrow during the orientation. I'm going to ask a lot of questions but I'm sure there will be some things I will forget to ask. Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow :-)
