NARS-Has anybody actually applied to this program?

Published

I was wondering if anyone here actually applied to this program. Care to share your experience? Are there nurses already deployed to rural areas because of this program? Please enlighten us and share your application experience. My family is really skeptic about the whole process...thank you very much:nurse:

This will indeed decrease the number of unemployed/underemployed nurses in the country (while waiting for their job opportunity locally/abroad).

As someone else mentioned, if you are originally from the municipalities or rural areas mentioned then you can apply. I have heard of some nurses applying who have family in those areas and using the family address.

It is a solution to a few problems; perhaps not the most ideal solution but at least it is paid employment which will count as experience when you are trying to get a job when volunteer positions count for nothing.

Hushdawg you are right that this program is better than offering volunteer services. However, I am needed home...and I can't leave my family to stay in the province for this. The solution is a just a temporary patch up. After six months and if you are not deployed then your back to being unemployed.

Although I appreciate the government's efforts to resolve the increasing number of unemployed nurses here in the Philippines, I think the NARS program is just a temporary fix. Why don't the government just expand the facilities and bed capacities of government hospitals? This would generate more jobs for health care professionals, including nurses. I know that the construction process will take months-years to complete, but this will better benefit our nurses in the longer run...

Why won't they do that? because they already do it and make the nurses just work harder.

The change has to take place with Pinoy nurses moving as one group to vote out the old corrupt politicians that keep the status quo in place and vote in new politicians who are daring enough to make changes to promote real social and economic growth.

PEOPLE can make the government change policies and establish labor ethics and enforce them.

PEOPLE have to make the change. Don't wait for the government to decide... you TELL the government what to do.

I applied 2 months ago, and told me to wait for further notice next year. It also posted on the site that they will prioritized those who are Nurse applicants who are dependents of workers affected by the Global Crisis.

Is the rumor true? that there will no longer be a 3rd batch for DOLE-NARS?

I applied for this program. They sent me email and said I should wait. Blah blah. But they never called me. I never got the chance to be interviewed. :crying2:
