I was wondering if anyone here actually applied to this program. Care to share your experience? Are there nurses already deployed to rural areas because of this program? Please enlighten us and share your application experience. My family is really skeptic about the whole process...thank you very much:nurse:

I don't actually care for this kind of bs from the Philippine government. For me this is another scheme made by our government to actually suck the light out of desperate Nurses in the Philippines. Everything the Phil government is doing right now is about taking advantage of every situation its people is in.

In my own opinion, I think that the government is trying their best to serve the unskilled nurses while meeting the health needs of the people in rural communities. I visited the website and I think that have set a proper application process for those who are interested. For those who really wants experience and help the Filipino people all at the same time, I think this program best suits you. It may not be a PGH or Makati Med experience but at least its a decent nursing experience. You get an allowance by the way (as what I have seen in the website).

I live in the city. They only entertain applicants who live in their target rural areas. (poorest of the poor) I just called one of their trunklines (who btw is so rude). I was trying to clarify this clause in their website and I get a rude remark telling me to just read what the site says.

This is a long shot solution to unemployment of nurses. I just hope somebody can actually share their experience.

Can you post the website for everyone to view? :)

unemployed registered nurses who are physically and mentally fit and willing to serve in their hometowns and who meet the following requirements may qualify for the training cum employment under nars:

  • with valid nurse license issued by the prc
  • not over 35 years old
  • resident of the identified municipalities
  • no nursing-related practice for the past 3 years

- they should have removed the qualification number 3

Assuming the government is really trying to do its best for the NARS program, this doesn't mean they are not going straight .... I've been around for 37 years... and I have witnessed a load of crappy proposals coming from this and other government. Things should change.. not only for TRAPOS and DYNASTY POLITICS. The politicians in the Philippines are making an enterprise out of the government positions they are in.

So we should watch out for every move that they make.

I also applied to this NARS pogram online thru the dole website and I just received an email today from dole that my registration was accepted and they already gave me my control no and they also told me to wait for the advice from dole on what to do next.

By the way, I reside in one of the municipalities here in Camarines sur which is also NOT included on the list that they have there that's why I was really amazed that my registration was approved. So, to all people out there who wants to try you may do so, anyway there's no harm in trying, right?

Hi joy, thank you for sharing your experience please give us updates on your application.

I will also try my luck here...for those who have not yet visit the site http://www.nars.dole.gov.ph

Let us see where this will go. I have been sending resumes and application forms. Should my application advance I will let you know

If you are not residing in one of the listed cities/ municipalities in the NARS program, you can still register if you were BORN in one of the chosen municipalities/cities listed on NARS program. That's what my friend did and it works.

hi! according to the site (http://nars.dole.gov.ph/about.aspx)

"While on training, nurses will be given a stipend/allowance of P8,000.00 per month. This translates to about P366.00 per day for a forty (40) hours training/workweek. As these nurses are already in their hometowns, transportation expenses will no longer be a problem"

though our gov't "aims" to help unemployed, unexperienced nurses, i personally think that P8K is not enough. true, it is better than receiving nothing when doing volunteer work in the hospitals just so to gain experiece and find a nusing job,but grrrrr....:flmngmd::flmngmd::flmngmd:

i do love nursing, i love working with people but this situation in our country really sucks! :spbox::spbox:

I am not a resident of any of the municipalities listed there. Oh well...I aborted my application. I can't seem to see the logic here, why choose nurses only living in rural areas? What about city dwellers who can't find a job.
