I just started a new job, and most of the nurses I work with have these super cute personalized name tags... They have their first name and RN or LPN in big cutsey font, with a picture of a nurse doing something "nursey" (charting, standing by a pt, etc...)
Anyone have one of these or something similar and know where I can get one?? I asked someone and they told me where they were from (someone ordered them off a website) and I can't for the life of me remember... I'm now off for 5 days and want to try and get one because they are so cute!
Thanks for any help! :)
I have purchased my cutesy name-tags from an online retailer called Teddy's Rainbow (formerly known as TR Nametags). Click on the link below to get to their website.
That site is great! Thanks for the post. Wanting a cute name tag doesn't indicate an inability to function well as a nurse or a lack of knowledge. Cruelty to others for no apparent reason other than a difference in personal style, well that's another story. Not only should a nurse be competent, but caring. I am aware of dosimetric badges that measure exposure to radiation but am not yet aware of any that measure an understanding of the disease process. Enlighten me if I am mistaken.

I didnt even know this sort of badge exists thanks for that link
You know, I didn't ask to be harassed by my fellow "professional" nurses... Your post struck a nerve too...I'm in the PICU where cute is encouraged... If you would have read my post, I did ask my co-workers where they bought them from and forgotten, so I thought I'd come to a forum where I've gotten lots of help and support over my career for some help on somehow to fit into the culture of my new unit.
Let's see. I apologized for my rant, in that very post. Sorry, that I struck a nerve with you, similar to the one your post struck with me.
Professional and "cute is encouraged?" Guess, my nerves are still raw.

Perhaps you should take a vacation if the word "cute" set you off to that level. It is a PICU, all their "clients" are children. Children like bright & shiny. No where does it say that a professional won't understand presentation of a disease process because they want a cute name tag. We nurses need to get over ourselves already with the "I'm a professional cuz I wear solid scrubs." Ya know what modern day docs do "cute" now too if it can get someone to smile. I saw two docs with a huge height difference between them dress up as the Jolly Green Giant & Sprout on an adult oncology unit while rounding. Their adult pts loved it, no one complained about unprofessionalism or demanded a new onc doc STAT.
Can't we make work just a little bit fun. Who really cares what color your scrubs are. They probably just want their pain meds and a warm blanket these are my top two requests. Working on my top ten pt requests list lol
I do think the RN. Needs to cover the entire name badge. With maybe my pic bottom left and first name bottom right. Though

Absolutely unnecessary.
