N Day: 6/7/05

Yes, I know of at least two of us who are testing tomorrow, June 7th.

This morning I dutifully put away my NCLEX books, my med/surg texts, my lab book, my copious notes. I removed the bookmark to the online questions I purchased from my bookmark bar. I am already nervous, and my test isn't for 24 more hours! Ok, 23 hours. Not that I'm counting....

Today I have some errands to run, and will go for a long walk to tucker myself out enough that I will sleep tonight. Have a massage appointment. Tonight we're having game night with the kids--distraction is a very therapeutic technique, lol!!!!!

So. Who else is testing tomorrow, and how are you doing today? Grinnurse, check in here!

I'll post tomorrow after I test, give y'all a full report! Please think good thoughts.......for all of us.

Hey Guys- So I either really failed this miserably or passed.

Just got back home. Don't have a clue as to how I did, do ya'll. Just feel kinda "bland". Husband asked me how I think I did, I had to say "no clue". Don't even want to go there trying to remember some of the questions that stumped me and I can't right now, but as soon as I lay down for my nap in a minute I am sure they will all come back :rotfl: :rotfl:

Mine shut off at 75-which really freaked me out I wasn't expecting that one. I thought my computer was messing up or something. :chuckle The only alternative questions I got were the select all that apply, one math, and tons of prioritizing and community health. I can honestly say that this test was like nothing I have ever encountered...............It's not what I expected. I expected more scenario questions or something.

Well the waiting will be excruciatingly painful for the next couple of days. Andrea, since ya'll don't have the ability to find out your scores early, how long are they estimating that it will take? Todd-does FL have it where you can find out early?

I was sooooo tired this morning. Did not sleep worth a dern last night again-imagine that? So I am headed off here to take a "hopefully" long nap!!

OK ya'll-think positive thoughts, and try to relax a little cause we can't change anything now. I will be praying for us until we all know our results.

TGIO-thank goodness it's over!! :)

I feel your pain! I didn't sleep well last night at all. I came home, had something to eat, and then took a nice nap.

I didn't have any math questions. Kind of ironic since my school really emphasizes us knowing how to do drug calculations. I swear, that was the one thing I REALLY wanted on my NCLEX!

Yes, in Florida we can get our results early. I've already checked! :chuckle Obviously, they're not available yet...

Sending good thoughts your way!

Hello everyone-

I really haven't been writng on the message board because I have been wrecking my brain to study. I took the NCLEX today and my nerves were shot, I had to go the bathroom ten minutes into the test (and I'm not talking about going to do number 1). I had no math questions mostly prioritizing questions, which patient do you see first, lots of signs and symptoms and peds. I had the total number of questions 265. I already know that I failed I just need the boards to verify it for me. The test was not what I expected I thought I was going to see a lot of scenarios, but there were short sentences.

I'm just going to take a long nap today, I really don't want to check the results. I'll just get back to the library and start studying again on Monday. I really want to keep a postive mind but its really hard.

Good Luck to everyone who took NCLEX today and future test-takers.

I took it today too.......OMG! I did 75 questions in an hour and thirty minutes. There were about four questions that I'm absolutely certain I got correct. I had two math questions, several "select all's" and questions on herbs (???) The herbs really caught me off guard. There were more peds/maternal health than I wanted :) I'd rather have a root canal than do that again. Guess we just wait now, huh? I think I need a cold beer...Good luck everyone!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Me too! I just checked the BNE site and nothing  I just figure it never hurts to try!!! :rotfl: This will be as bad as it was preparing for it with the nerves and all. I took an ever so short nap......darn phone!! I know what you mean about the math, our school did that too. Of course fortunate for me I only had one but I was glad b/c math drives me insane.

tevans, I got herbs too, 1 I think. I had lots of ob/peds and renal questions and I can totally relate to the root canal...........me too!!

redred-cut that out!! maybe you were just a test subject. There were several people at my school that I know of so far that have gotten the full 265, knew they failed, and passed...............so you just never know. Think positive ok.........................rest...................try to relax and do something fun or at least that will take your mind off things until you know what the real deal is...........try to take it easy and lets us know how you do...........we are all keeping our fingers crossed for each other!!

Hey! I had an herbal question too! And LOTS and LOTS of renal questions....eeeeeeek!

Kelly, even though NH doesn't do the quick results, they do have online license verification--when I took LPN boards, my license # was posted the next morning, so I really really hope it will be the same tomorrow.....

redred, hang in there. I totally agree, you might've just been a "lucky" random 265-question person. Keep us posted, huh?

Thanks for the words of encouragement grinnurse and andre, I'm really going to try and be postive. Maybe there is a chance I pass only time will tell.

[/b]Oh no, your guys are so freaking me out. When I check the online website for license verfication it has my name but is says STATUS: application in process and it has RANK: unapproved applicant. So I'm guessing that means I failed. Does anyone know what the online website posts when you fail or do they not post anything at all??????????

I checked my state's BON website too....There are four nurses/cna's with my name. My LPN license is listed and I got all excited because I saw my name with RN after it, and well, obviously, it wasn't me! Arghhhh! The lady at Pearson said she'd had reports of people getting their results w/in four hours. I've only told a few people I took it, less explaining to do!

On the Texas BNE you can look in two places. The first is RN verification. If your name shows up when you search then you passed. If it doesn't show up it means that 1) either they don't have the info. posted or 2) you failed. But, you can also look at the graduate nurse verification and if your name shows up there, you haven't failed, the info just hasn't processed. If you look on GNV and it doesn't show up and the RN verification doesn't show up you failed.

Thank goodness I am still in the running..............LOL Just checked a minute ago and still have the GN permit. I am going to check PearsonVue in the next couple of minutes to see if anything is there yet!!

Still keeping fingers, toes, legs, eyes crossed for us all!! Andre, hope yours shows up this morning girl!!

Hallelujah!!!

I passed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck to those of you still waiting....I'm so grateful that I was able to find out so quickly!

Andrea

Hi family, how important for me if to have you out there, I am a foreing nurse working night shift as a PCT in NY area, now I am taking Kaplan review course, this saturday is the second session, seems helfull, specially the tecnics, "the piramide tree" at the time to select always Physical needs first, and don't forget that "pain", is considered psicosocial with some exeptions.

1-Kidney stones.

2-Labor.

3-MI.

Don't forget that always is access before implement, with some exceptions too. And always do something before call the MD.

I will be sharing here all the tips that they are giving me in Kaplan.

Good luck guys, i know that is a long way I used to work at the Must important cardiac Institute In Havana look at me, doing the thing all over again, is tuff but soon I gonna be RN again, God willing.

All of you are very important for my days and keep myself inspired, I wish you the best, don't stop taking questions, for the ones that need prioritazing questions i found the Delmar review very close to the real exam.

I am agree that saunders is not real Nclex type!

And the boards review very little explanations with the rationals, you end up more confuse that before you started.

Kaplan the closest!

THe review book is awesome, not available on regular stores.

I am waiting for the ATT, taking the exam sometime after July 15 and before July 30.

I'll keep myself posted.

A big hug for this Community in the same race and on my prayers!
