Yes, I know of at least two of us who are testing tomorrow, June 7th.

This morning I dutifully put away my NCLEX books, my med/surg texts, my lab book, my copious notes. I removed the bookmark to the online questions I purchased from my bookmark bar. I am already nervous, and my test isn't for 24 more hours! Ok, 23 hours. Not that I'm counting....

Today I have some errands to run, and will go for a long walk to tucker myself out enough that I will sleep tonight. Have a massage appointment. Tonight we're having game night with the kids--distraction is a very therapeutic technique, lol!!!!!

So. Who else is testing tomorrow, and how are you doing today? Grinnurse, check in here!

I'll post tomorrow after I test, give y'all a full report! Please think good thoughts.......for all of us.

Andrea

I would like everyone to know...

I PASSED

I was in total shock I thought for sure I failed. I want to thank grinnurse and andrea for the words of encouragement on Tuesday beacause I was so down on my luck.

To all future test takers good luck and don't have the same negative attitude like I did, because you never know what's in store for you.

YIPPEEEEEEEE! Another new nurse!

Congrats redred, RN!!!!!!!!

First of all congrats to all of you who passed...you can finally relax after all that school and then all that studying

Do you guys have any advice on the best ways to be prepared? I am currently taking an online class through ncsbn and have been using Saunders..mostly the CD. Have any last minute things I should make sure to know? Do you think a lot of the questions could be thought through or did you need to know a lot of content? I just need some advice and some confidence to pass:)

Congrats again and would love any help:)

Hi Christi-

I took a review course right after school was out (was supposed to be for 3 days) that I felt was a waste of money and time :o Then I got down to the real studying. Really I think what helped me the most (Thanks to Suzzanne the moderator) was to answer questions-NCLEX style from a couple of cd's that I had purchased. I did the pretests on the cds first and figured out the weak areas (which I already knew...........just to confirm :rotfl: ). Then started doing practice questions, at least 100 QD sometimes more. My target goal was to answer 3000 questions prior to the test and ended up with close to 3500 not counting all the questions that I had answered when preparing for tests at school. When you do the questions be sure you understand why or why not you chose the answer that you did. When I was getting down to the wire or if I had the answers narrowed down to two, I would write down why I chose one over the other to see if my brain was headed in the right direction. Really understand the rational behind the answer especially on the wrong answers. There were somethings that I went back over the first week just to refresh memory and the second week all I did was questions. I liked the Mosby study guide the most b/c it gives lots of pharm and math in each section and there are thousands of questions in the book and on the cd.

Also, changing my attitude of "I know I should be able to pass NCLEX" to "I Will Pass" NCLEX. A positive attitude definately helped me out. And a hint from Raindreamer to start writing your name out with the RN attached. You have the education to do it just believe in yourself and you will get through it!! Good luck with studying and keep us posted on your progress.
