My school will NOT allow anynoe to take both A&P 2 and Micro Help

Published

My school said unless you have extensive work experience in micro they don't allow anyone to take both.

All the schools near by offer micro the same time as my A&P 2 class

I was thinking of taking an online class then taking it again during the summer but that would mean paying twice for the class

All I need is A&P 2 and Micro before I start the nursing courses this fall

I would try and speak with the professors to see if they will allow it.

I know my school advises not to take both in the same semester, but they do allow it.

I plan on taking Micro and APII in the spring.

Try other schools in the area?

I've heard of online Micro classes, but I am not sure if those are accepted for nursing programs.

I would find out if this is a set in stone rule or simply a recommendation. I was told the same thing by some of the instructors at my college but found out during enrollment that it is only "recommended" that you not take those tough science classes at the same time. I took Physiology, chem 1, and micro in the same semester. It would certainly be worth the effort to dig into this a little more.

Ditto. Try to register for both and see if the computer registration will allow you to. So long as you get good grades, I doubt that anyone after the fact will go back and say "We're sorry we cant let you into the nursing program because you took those two classes at the same time."

Doubtful that the director of the program is the one who is doing the pre-req audit, either.

Good luck!

I have look at all the schools in my area and the Micro is the same time as my A&P2.

Well is there anyway you could take both the A&P 2 and Micro at a different school altogether?

... it's probably from past 'bad experiences' however if you discuss this with the dean of the dept - and you show promise and a plan - I would venture to say it would be possible.

I was wondering too if it was just a recommendation? I took A&P2 and micro at the same time. The department doesn't recommend it, but (at my school) they didn't force you to take them seperately.

They do this because of the amount of people that drop these classes. SO many people are wating to get in - and then to ha ve these people take up the space only to drop - SO frutrating. I remember waiting out a semester for A&P1 and micro because they were full - an I just looked at the class and thought there WILL be space in a month...but, oh well....

Good luck!
