My Nurse's Hat Is In The Mail!!!

I found a website where I could order a nursing cap that looks like the hat I use to have many moons ago. I ordered it along with a hat bag to keep it dust free when I'm not wearing it. It is due to arrive in two or three days. I'm soooooooo excited! :)

Tomorrow I'm going out to the uniform shop and buy myself a white uniform and new shoes. I'm already starting to feel the excitement just from the anticipation of dressing as I did when I graduated 16 years ago. I feel like a little kid right now! :chuckle

Laurasc, I too got a pin at our nurses pinning, and I also graduated from a Community College.......the best in the world (okay, so it's a prejudice opinion :D)!

I got my hat once we started clinicals, and we added a stripe each time we finished a rotation of clinicals in a two year period of clinicals taking place. By the time graduation came around, we got to put on the full red velvet stripe around the top of the hat. Mannnnnn was I proud! First kid of six in my family to get a college education! You bet I was grinning from ear to ear.....all teeth I was. :chuckle

You've inspired me, Renee. I believe I may order one myself. My boss, who is very old-fashioned, would probably love it lol. And Io have a pretty old-fashioned streak about some things, too.

renee, you are a talking the right thing now, hats are cool period. i had a former charge nurse who wore hers daily and i am speaking of recent, last year. i also worked at a nh that mandated all nurses, lpns and rns, to wear their white uniforms and hats.

i may wear mine again too.
