I just hope that whatever your SIL does, or doesn't do, that the outcome is favorable for the baby. I just don't really know what else to say, because nothing that comes to mind is all that great, and really -- this isn't about HER it is about the BABY!
Best wishes to you auntie on a happy, healthy niece or nephew in DUE time....
Sorry about that kimmi..... some people have forgotten that pregnancy isn't really about them, it's about a baby.
The sad thing is, and it's not that I wish anything bad for any baby or parent, but it's the people that treat their bodies and their pregnancies like crap that have beautiful healthy babies, and couples that try for years and spend thousands of dollars trying to conceive that have problems and complications. Go figure.

What Heather said. Oh, btw, you can flip your SIL off for me. :) Thank you kindly.
we commonly have patients come into our Triage area saying "my baby isn't moving so the doctor told me to come here and get checked out."
Upon questioning, we discover they've had nothing to eat all day, >12 hours!
When we were nice nurses, we used to try to educate patients about eating mini-meals frequently, and drinking lots of water....but the patients seemed to tune us out!
NOW, we just ask them if they plan to feed their newborn only once or twice a day! "Of course not!" they each and every one reply..."Then why do you think you should only feed them once or twice a day NOW?" DUH!
It is remarkable how much better we are communicating these days! LOL!
As a woman who has struggled with infertility my entire married life (14 years) I personally want to slap your SIL into oblivion. I would give my eye teeth to be able to become pregnant, get fat, have morning sickness. To me, it would be worth every second of it. Maybe your SIL needs to stop feeling sorry for herself and think about her baby. Sounds like a selfish witch to me. Makes me wonder what kind of mother she will be.
Hopefully the baby will be healthy Kimmi...but the pregnancy and delivery are nothing compared to actually having the baby out of the womb Is she ready for this or given any thought to being ready for parenting (although it's a little late!) since she can't very well get "tired" of her baby after it's born
Guess you better be ready-sounds like this baby's going to need you
*Crossing fingers that the baby will at least make it to 35 weeks and be a mature 35 weeker...*
I agree with prmenrs... consider showing her a NICU, maybe show her a 33 weeker that doesn't have mature lungs and is vented (heck, show her a baby that's younger if it will have the desired effect!). Also point out all the painful procedures that happen to babies... everything from heelsticks to venipunctures to having tape pulled from their skin. They pretty much have SOMETHING painful done every day. 33 weeks has a good chance of survival but maybe try going the direction of "you wouldn't want your poor baby subjected to pain would you?"

My dear SIL is 33 weeks pregnant and has been having preterm labor since 28 weeks. She is very non-compliant. She quit taking her meds at about week 29, and was on strict bedrest with BRP for a few weeks and then was given permission to return to work 20 hours a week and then be on bedrest at home. She has not been following doctor's orders. Well, a few days ago, she told me that now that she is at week 33, she is ready to have the baby. She is very active now and has said if she goes into preterm again, she is going to let it progress. Her reasoning? Baby has a very good survival rate now and she is tired of pregnancy, and doesn't want to get fat. She has said that if she actually does progress in her pregnancy, she will take castor oil well before her due date. This just gets my panties in a bunch!
