And I have to say, I'm a little bit excited =) I graduated in May, 2011, passed my NCLEX in July and just started my first RN position 2 weeks ago. I'm working through an agency doing home health. I provide care for a 9 mo vent pt with continuous G-tube feeds. Working on my peds vent certification as we speak!
It's great in that I pick my hours, I do 3 10 hour nights and no weekends and feel very fortunate that my first RN job is so flexible!!!!! I can't complain about the compensation either, very lucky compared to some of my classmates....
Congratulations! May this be the first of many!! My first RN job paid $4.20/hour! Of course that was a huge increase from the $1.90/hr I was making as a student nurse :) We won't talk about how long ago that was, but I wondered how in the world I would ever spend $100/week!!
