If you are working in an ER... and a patient is "mottled or cyanotic" and doesn't not have a pulse why would you even think to call EMS? EMS have more independence when it comes to their orders than an RN does... however an RN is kind of the ringleader in a hospital setting. They have to be independent and have standing orders in the filed because there are no MDs.... standing orders are what they look to. I guess I am wondering why you are asking if you should call EMS if the patient is already in the ER... If you're an RN you should be the one to code/ not code per their wishes

I am actually excited and afraid too! Got my books and all my supplies! I can't wait to begin! I have worked so hard just to get in. I took pre-reqs for a year, and I know some people have to wait longer than that so I am grateful I didnt have to.... I cant wait to start. Super excited :w00t:

I ordered the minty chip color and even got another one half off! I also ordered a zipper pouch to store my stethoscope in! I love these bags! tons of pockets and very cute!

I am also starting my first semester in NS. I had Dosage Calculations over the summer and now its just about 14 days until I begin!!!! I am super excited. I ordered my books (all 10 of them) I already have all my pre reqs done so from here forward it is Nursing classes only. I begin the first semester with Fundamentals, Skills, Pharm 1, and Geriatrics. Pretty darn excited though. My hubby got me a Cardio 3 stethoscope and I ordered a thirty one organizing utility tote as my clinical bag... (it has lots of pockets ) and a zipper pouch to store my stethoscope in :) Cant wait until the first day!!!!

I just got my acceptance letter last night to the Nursing school of my choice :w00t: :) Its about 10 minutes from my home and they accepted 25. I am so excited. Orientation is in the beginning of May and I am so excited yet nervous at the same time. I can't wait to begin. My husband got me a new Littman Cardiology III black edition for my "getting accepted" present. :) haha I can't wait!!!!!!!!!

Waiting on my acceptance/denial letter still. I have a good GPA and my TEAS scores were 91 percentile (national) and 93 percentile (program) so I am confident but still scared and anxious...seems I can't focus on my A+P work or anything at the moment because I am so tore up about this letter... called the school they said sometime before May 1 so I still have 3-4 weeks ugh

I just took the TEAS V and I got... 82.0 % Adjusted overall Percentile rank -NATIONAL- 91 Percentile rank -PROGRAM- 93 I am not sure how good/bad this is??? And I just took it so I don't know if I am accepted or not but I feel confident.

It has been over a year since I decided to embark on my journey to become an RN. I took tons of pre reqs so that I could apply this year. I applied and got a letter saying my file was complete and an invite to take the TEAS test. :yelclap: I just hope that goes well and I get a spot!!! My school is accepting 25 people so its gonna be tough but I hope I get in :) I take the TEAS March 12th so everyone say a little prayer for me.

I am an EMT-B and I finished paramedic school as well, I haven't tested NR yet but I promise you it is the hardest most rewarding work ever. I truly loved the people I worked with and I will never ever forget them but now I am in nursing school and I wanna be an RN so that I can make better money and work in a more stable environment. The things I learned I will carry forever though :)
