Recently, I made a mistake that was offensive to other nurses; I would like to apologize if I have offended you.
After speaking with many people about this, I do want it to be known that I have a lot of respect for nurses of every background. Some of the most helpful nurses to me have been ADNs; my best friend is an ADN. I meant absolutely no disrespect and sincerely hope that if you read anything to the contrary, you can accept my apology.
On an additional note, I think it is important for many of us to learn how to give constructive criticism without being rude or calling names.
Thank you and again, I apologize for any offense that was made and hope we can move forward with mutual respect for one another.

To be fair, the poster probably doesn't have enough posts to use the PM function. She DID change her username, after it was pointed out to her that it's against TOS.
Let's give her a chance. To err is human; to forgive, divine.
I do agree that she owes SBE and Celtic an apology
Excellent points. klone to the rescue. Again.

You can't PM until you have a set number of posts? Definitely didn't know that...
Yeah what constitutes a quality post?
Anyway I agree with the sentiment that this person offered an apology so I think it should be taken at face value and accepted for whatever my opinion is worth as I recognize that I'm a relative newcomer to this forum.
As far as whether someone can assume a leadership role without having any real experience in the field I've seen it to mixed results. I spent 8 years in the Army as a infantryman. I worked my way to NCO then Commissioned Officer. However, this is not the traditional way of assuming a leadership role in the military. Most Lieutenants are given a Platoon to lead right out of college. Is this a good idea? I guess so the Army's been around a long time and is pretty good at what it does. However, it doesn't always work by any stretch of the imagination. Honestly, I'm sure there were many, many times when my men would have preferred a younger less experienced officer. I knew when to call BS on their antics and freely did so
This thread isn't locked is it?
The posting of your question proves it's not.
In a previous thread, this same poster (who has since changed her username) had asked about a direct entry MSN program. She not only disrespected all ADN nurses but was very rude to some well established (and apparently well loved) AllNurses regulars.
THAT thread is now deleted. If it's only locked you can still read it and "like" the posts but can't add any to it. A deleted is thread is vanished.
