Does anyone know if this is a good program? I'm thinking about applying for it for Fall '08, but I don't know anyone who has gone to the school. I would love to know anything from quality of faculty to design of the program to how difficult it is to get accepted. Do most people who start the program graduate? Does anyone work during the program? Really anything would be very appreciated!

Thanks for writing back. I am thinking of starting a new thread for those who are applying for 2010 Fall. I just heard about an interview from Duke yesterday but am going to continue pursing MUSC as I adore Charleston and its wayyyyyy cheaper than Duke. I'm almost done with my application, probably send it in with in a week, then send off my applications ect...

Not into Duke yet, they do interviews first! I have my interview in late January. Do you know if MUSC does interviews?

no they do not do interviews.

if i were you i would get my application in ASAP because sometimes it takes people a little while to do your reference letter...the deadline is feb 1st or something...and they will send out acceptance letters a month after that...so around the first of march you will know if you got accepted or not.

The people who are applying for the 2010 class have you finished your applications? I am just waithing on one reference I hope I get in!

Does anyone know if the people who qualified for early admission have been notified if they have been accepted or not?

You can always email the admissions dept. As far as I was told, this is how they break it down (although, it may change):

50% GPA (20% cummulative, 30% prereqs)

35% Essay

10% Recommendations

5% Resume

So they don't look at experience?

Experience could technically fall under essay, recommendations, and resume. So although it doesn't have an exclusive category, it comes into play.

WAITING! Best of luck to everyone! Also the early acceptance I asked about and it seemed as if they had filled a minimal number of spots that way. If I don't get in I willreapply for the spring under that method, but I hadn't finished all of the prereqs yet. Also I think that the experience does fall under the resumee portion.

I am new to this message board thing. But I noticed that you guys have applied for MUSC for the Fall. I applied in the spring and did not get in (I think because of my SAT score and I had not finished my prereqs). I applied again for the fall and hope I get in (like every other person). We find out in one month. I am pretty nervous!
