Does anyone know if this is a good program? I'm thinking about applying for it for Fall '08, but I don't know anyone who has gone to the school. I would love to know anything from quality of faculty to design of the program to how difficult it is to get accepted. Do most people who start the program graduate? Does anyone work during the program? Really anything would be very appreciated!
Anyone out there for the Fall 2011 ABSN? Please tell me I'm not alone! Actually, tell me I'm alone so that I have better odds of getting in ;-)
I've applied to several schools, but I REALLY want MUSC. My GPA isn't super fab at a 3.28, but there is one class (from 15 years ago) that is under appeal and if I get my appeal I'll have a 3.5. Of course, I emailed MUSC to let them know, but doubt it makes much difference since my app is already submitted! My science GPA is a 3.7 and I'm in Micro right now... I have volunteer experience but not in a medical setting. Geez, the more I look at what I'm writing, the more worried I'm becoming! Anyway, I think my essay was good and now I'm just holding my breath!
Anybody holding their breath with me?
I am also a Fall 2011 hopeful. My stats aren't stellar but you won't get in unless you apply and give it a shot. This was my most expensive application by far. I am out-of-state but know many people who had wonderful things to say about the program. Good luck to everyone, I'm just looking forward to hearing something back soon, good or bad.
As someone said a month ago, MUSC uses ATI not HESI. They have an NCLEX predictor that you have to pass before they will endorse you but in reality, if you can't pass that do you really want to sit for NCLEX? I mean why pay the money just to fail it. If you don't pass the predictor you are placed into a remediation group and they work with you for a couple of weeks. I can't imagine anyone getting all the way through and then not being able to pass the predictor or NCLEX after a couple week review. Good luck to you all applying.
