MUSC ABSN Fall of 2015

Published

I know this is still a little early, but I wanted to go ahead and make the thread so all prospective students could prepare. My credentials aren't nearly as good as a lot of people who have applied, but I felt like it was worth a shot since MUSC is my last chance at a BSN before I just do the ADN and bridge to BSN later on.

I should have right at a 3.1 at the time of my application. Made a C in Anatomy, a B+ in Physiology, and a B- in Chemistry. Microbiology will be in progress next semester, and I made pretty much As in every other non-science pre-req. I'm hoping that my volunteer and work experience will buffer my low GPA and grades :)

I'm in state. I applied last semester as well and didn't get in. Hopefully second times the charm!

What are your stats if you don't mind me asking? I can't believe you did not get in when you work at musc.

She works there so in state. I'm in state also

sure I have a 3.4 GPA, about the same in pre reqs but no degree! I have worked at MUSC in research for two months, I have previous hospital volunteer experience but nothing clinical, just front desk! I'm also BLS (CPR+AED) certified. I also have experience working with a podiatrist and caregiving but again nothing very hands on which makes me nervous!

Ohh maybe that is why since it is not clincal work but if you have volunteer experience I have heard the accept that sometimes dispite no clincal work. Well goodluck to everyone :)

I'm sorry. None of those responses were showing :-/

I have no degree either. I'll have just 70 credit hours! That makes me nervous

As of right now I don't have a degree either but I have 74 credit hours and I am in the middle of taking 12 more, I am doing the Nursing Assistant program at trident so I am taking NUR 102 and I have 80+ volunteer hours but no work expereince in a hospital. If I don't get in for fall 2015 I am going to attempt to get a patient care tech job and then apply for spring 2016 with work experience and 100+ volunteer hours at that point. lol

Mocapoca sorry to be a pest....can you post the application stats one last time pretty please since the deadline is up!

Hey sorry I just got the email notification saying that I was mentioned. I'm glad someone was able to post the stats for you, since I am not on campus today. Fridays are my regular day off from school! (: if you guys have any questions about anything I will be glad to help!

That's me. I was a surgical and specialty/emergency vet tech for years and a surgical tech in the army for 2 years. I have about 75 volunteer hours in hospice and therapeutic horseback riding. But no degree. :-/ i have a 3.7 but had two re takes from 10 years ago so probably only a 3.4?

You get extra points for being military AndreaSkoog so that plus volunteer hours and clinical experience, I am sure you will get in :)

Does anyone know when they are meeting to review applications?
