I know this is still a little early, but I wanted to go ahead and make the thread so all prospective students could prepare. My credentials aren't nearly as good as a lot of people who have applied, but I felt like it was worth a shot since MUSC is my last chance at a BSN before I just do the ADN and bridge to BSN later on.
I should have right at a 3.1 at the time of my application. Made a C in Anatomy, a B+ in Physiology, and a B- in Chemistry. Microbiology will be in progress next semester, and I made pretty much As in every other non-science pre-req. I'm hoping that my volunteer and work experience will buffer my low GPA and grades :)
They're not the best haha... 3.1 from my undergrad at UCSD, but I have 4.0 in the pre-reqs. I have been volunteering in the ER and Pediatric Day Hospital, and I have also shadowed in the OR. Next month I will start work as a CNA in a cardiac telemetry unit. I know my undergrad gpa isn't great but hopefully my volunteer, shadowing, and soon to be work experience will help :)
Sure thing, I had a 3.8 in undergrad, and a I'm not sure how they were calculating the pre-req GPA, but I had all A's and a B in the prereq's. For anyone who doesn't make it in first round, I will share that I didn't either and I found the application review tremendously helpful. They break down the application review process for you and let you know where your gaps or areas for improvement are. You'll know exactly what you need to do to be successful the next time. Good luck!
Hey there, i'm hoping to get in for fall 2015 as well! I currently work at MUSC so i know the stats!
