Hi everyone!

I just have a quick question. Can anyone tell me how much nursing school cost. I mean just the clinicals. I am almost close to finishing my pre-reqs and I might be able to get some help with aid from a local carreer center and they just need to know a round figure any ideas.

Thanks so much:redbeathe:nurse:

for ours they are billed out as credit hours, but they aren't actual creit hours on our transcript, I'd call your school to find out for sure tho since every school has different ways of doing things.

My school charges $25 an hour to make up clinicals. I don't think that my school would let you take the clinicals without taking the other courses there. Our clinical experiences relate to whatever we have done in lab and in class the previous week.

My school alots you two (2) missed clinicals before you have to 'pay' to make up the ones you lost. They charge $100 per day. I would contact your school administator and ask to get your specific information

At my school the lectures and clinical classes are all billed the same per credit hour, and you cannot take one without the other, they mandate what order and when you take the classes. I would think most programs are like that.

Creditwise, ours is the same as the others have listed -- it is a component of our nursing classes.

As for other incidentals -- there are items like scrubs, shoes, socks, scissors, a stethoscope, a watch w/a second hand, paper, pens, etc. that are needed for clinicals. We also use a Nursing Diagnosis book, a drug book, and a lab values book to complete care plans for clinicals. Now, several of these are also used for our regular courses, but they have really been the center for completing our care plan info.

I don't know the exact cost of all of those items, but I think a little research for your school and area of the country can get you some ballpark figures...

There may be other items I have missed, but I think those are listed in one of the stickies about "Things you need for nursing school" or something similar...

Best wishes!!

my school charges by the unit plus $20 for a "lab fee" which I am not sure what that is all about because we are not actual in the lab at school, just at clinicals.

My school charges $300.00 per clinicals. This is expensive but it is worth it. The Teachers are student-friendly.
