how much do you make an hour/year?

How much LPN make it Cali?? I want to live in a nice area not hilly or anything. Something with apartment complexes. How much do they make starting? And do the correctional facility hire LPN's? That's where I wanna work

$40/hr during the week, and about $46 on the weekends. My average is somewhere inbetween there (44ish?) I don't know how much that equals per year. I've been working for about 2 years 3 months now as an RN.

I live in Orange County, CA. New nurses start out at about 85k per year, but many of the nurses where I work with just a few years and beyond employment are making well over 100k per year now. Too bad you fall into a higher tax brackett with that amount of money and so after taxes, it's not very much at all.

Gee, the variables just in one are are so diverse. When I was a CNA in one LTC facility the going rate was $6/hr. Another 15 miles away I made $10.50/hr. CNA in hospitals make considerably more, but then you have more responsibilities. The range here for a hospital CNA is from $10-$17/hr starting pay. Kinda depends on wether it is a private community hospital or a larger Healthcare system. The larger systems pay more. I have now moved up from being a CNA/PCT to a Nurse Tech as I am a student nurse in the same hospital that I was a CNA making $12/hr to start, and my NT pay is $19/hr. As a Grad nurse I will be bumped up to $32/hr, and once I pass boards and have my RN(Associates degree) I will be at a start rate of $40/hr. This is in the Kansas City Missouri area.

WHAT? What hospital is this in Kansas City MO? Because I'm a new grad, just got hired in August and I researched every hospital in this area (including KU and the hospitals on the Kansas side) and KU pays the highest and it's no where near $32 an hour for a new grad. KU starting pay is $22 base pay, and $5.65 for nights. So, that's only $27.65 starting pay, considering you are gonna work nights.

I have a BSN and had license in hand when I got hired and the pay was no where near $40 an hour for a new grad. And if you are referring to agency, what agency is hiring new grads right now? The only thing I can think of is if you are referring to PRN positions, which most hospitals are not hiring new grads for, because you have to have atleast 1 year RN experience. And not to mention, the PRN rate does not include bennies.

And I know for SURE HCA's are not paying no where near that close for experienced nurses, let alone a new grad.

And I worked as a Nurse Intern while in nursing school at a HCA hospital and the pay was $12.50/hr with .75/hr for nights and .50/hr weekends. And this was at a PRN rate.

NO. I'm not gonna be an RN I'm gonna be an LPN. I don't know what you guys call then. Maybe LVN but anyway I'm sure they don't make that much money. I'm tryna find how much the make an hr starting. I'm look but I'm coming up with too good to be true numbers. I already know rent is 2 arms and a leg but it is what it is,

I think 27.55/hr, add on 3.70 night shift diff.. and i work only weekends so an extra 16 hrs paid per pay period.. 2 years exp in Houston, TX. Oh, I'm an RN.

Ooh, just did the math. I make about 32/hr total, but only get to take home 23/hr. Boo to taxes!

RN - Washington DC, 2 years expereince. Hourly wage:

$28 something base pay

$35 ish for full time nights

$40 ish for weekends

$50 ish for overtime

I am a nursing student in KC, and know that NO ONE makes that kinda money here.

That's what I was saying. I'm a new grad with a BSN and walked in with license in hand and didnt get hired making nearly that much. I really want to know what hospitals this person claim these outrageous salaries are at. I've researched all the hospitals in the metro KC area, including the Kansas side, and NONE of them are starting new grads off with that much. Especially the HCA's.

The only thing I can think of is this person is referring to PRN rates, but still, they are not even hiring new grads for PRN without atleast 1 year RN experience. Trust me, I checked into that as well. And I know most HCA's PRN rates are about $33/hr for EXPERIENCED nurses with a commitment of 4 days a month. No bennies. And even if it is PRN, it's STILL not that high.

And I also find it hard to believe CNA's and PCT's are making that amount of money too.
