Check out Clarian hospitals. I think the site is http://www.clarian.com (or org?). They are Methodist, IU, and Riley hospitals all downtown Indy.

I have been a nurse for 12 years. I started in a hospital at $11.50 per hour. 10 years ago I changed to Visiting Nurses. When I left there 11 Mos ago I was making $25.50/hr plus all the over time I wanted. I had full time employment, on call paid $2.00 per hour unless you got called then it was time & 1/2. I worked weekends, had no time to myself but made lots of money. I PRN for VNA at $30.00/hr. ( No benefits).:)

I changed jobs last August & started working in an Oncology treatment center. I started at $25.00 per hour. No weekends, Holidays- off paid. Lots of rep lunches & dinners. This Friday I got layed off for lack of another MD coming on board in the office.:o But I still think the pay is excellent.

I'm still waiting to hear how much Indiana office nurses are making. If you're out there, please share your office specialty and salary range. My salary stinks!

Hi, Im an LPN. I make $15/hr and work 40 hr/wk with weekly pay at a home health agency, hrs subject to change d/t other nurses wanting hrs or hospital stays or whatever may come up, so its not as good as ya think, I did work in a nursing home and my shift I made $15/hr there also, that was on 2nd's though, 1st shift makes $14.50 and 3rd is the lowest at $14. I hope this helps you out. What is your hourly wage and where do you work?

An RN should NEVER take a job that pays lower than $15. That would be ridiculous, no matter what state you live. Average RN, new grad, $16 for LTC, $18 for hospital. Plus a shift diff. if applicable.

I agree with you whole heartedly!!!!! :)

Here the pay is about 10 to 12 in Northern Indiana. Also they are taking away time and a half for over time. Lots of nurses are looking elsewhere for jobs. The NA's make about 6 or 7 and say without time and half overtime pay it just isn't enough to pay for childcare.

I am so glad I decided not to move to Indiana with my boyfriend to attend nursing school and then get a job! You say NAs make $6-7? They make about $13 here and new grad nurses start at $25-30. This is in PA in the Philadelphia area. I finally succeeded in convincing my boyfriend that if he moves HERE he will be a lot better off in terms of employment!

I worked in Indianapolis as an RN on a PCU up until April, and I made $18.20 base pay plus $3-4 shift diff. Here in FL I make $17/hr base...that includes extra pay for having my BSN and ACLS. Makes me want to be back in Indiana!! :)

I live in northwest Indiana and I just started last week as a CNA at a nursing home making $7.50, but I was told that the hospital down the street will pay about $10 an hour. I was making $11.50 at my last job....as a secretary!

Specializes in Med/Surg.

I work as an LPN in a med/surg unit of an Indianapolis hospital. I have been there 2 years and now make about $15.50/hr. RN's at my hospital start at $19-21/hr. Hope this helps.

:) Kacy

I dont work for less than 30/hour. I average around 40/hour (with benefits but no overtime) doing acute dialysis.

The higher paying jobs are out there, just keep an eye out for them follow the money trail.
