without being hired in an agency/facility? The reason I am asking is because, I have been outta work for 5 months now. My moms friend is doing caretaking unlicensed in people's homes and recieves pay for that, use to be a CNA years ago.... I was curious since I am licensed, if I could put an ad in the paper stating that I am looking for work to take care of someone in their home without going through home health, I have worked at a HH before and was promised 40-60 hr/wk and got 45 the first week and then it dropped down to 20 because other nurses were needing positions too and then it completely dropped down to 6! I was wanting to put my own hours in as much as possible knowing that I can work when the patient needs me, etc.....is this legal?

but, not home health agency. My boyfriends brother's girlfriend works at an agency, but I havent been able to talk to her because she lives in another state and we dont have LD. Anywy, where can I find an agency in Indiana? I hear they get to go to diff places all the time, that would be very nice for me since I get bored in one spot easily. I need all the info I can get. I too am having a similar problem with my previous job. I was hired in at a nursing home in late march of this year. I didn't even get to work there, but two months!!!!! I was called in the DON office and she stated that my head was not into my work, and she said to go home. She called me the next day and told me she couldnt have me continue employment there. I was and still am p**sed off bad! I am finding a terrible time getting return calls for jobs that i have been applying for, and I finally filed for unemployment in August, but it will soon run out before the end of this year. So does this mean I wasnt at fault if I recieved it? How do I go about getting a copy of my references from them to find out if they have given me a bad one? I know that when I talked to the DON last, I asked her if she would give me a bad references and she said no that she would just give the dates employed there. This is crazy! I mean, I feel so lost as to what happened to me, then a girl I use to work with there calls me and tells me that people talked bad about me when I left, I even had one girl tell my friend that the reason I was fired was because I gave the wrong medicine to a patient and harmed them very badly. If that was the case, why wasnt this addressed to me by the DON instead of word of mouth? and wouldnt I have a penalty against my license? BTW I am an LPN. My license are due for renewal here soon, and I am getting second thoughts on wether I should continue nursing, I graduated August of 2003, and have had one other job at a hospital for 4 months and decided to find a different speciality of nursing, and I gave my notice....does anyone think this was a personal conflict issue? what then? Also, I come to find out that my position was left open for a good 4 weeks after I left.....this is very odd to me. Why can't I find a job now? I checked my status online and it says my lic are still active. Should I call the Health Bureau and find out why I am not even getting phone calls when I put my app in for open positions? Please what do I do? Any advice please!!!!!!!!! I'm about to quit nursing altogether I am so depressed...and here I was thinking of going back for my ADN, but can I with lil job experience go back to get my Associates? I hear you have to at least have 1 year work experience to get in the LPN to RN transition program :uhoh21:

:stone here are a couple of questins and a situation regarding some things: 1. my bf's ex saw him and told him that i got her fired for calling her don and telling the don that she was calling my house while she was employed there. i did call to tell her the don that i was tired of her calling from her work and asking for my bf anmd that ohter people were also calling there at my house for her and gave the don their names, i told her that if it didnt stop i was calling the police, whihch i didnt. i didnt call police on her at all...i let it go because the calls stopped.......3 weeks later, she tells my bf i am getting subpoened in court....come to find out, i know a girl that works there and that girl told me, that she didnt get fired of that because of me, she got fired for sleeping on her job and whistelblowers told on her...lol...anyways, do you think i am going to get into trouble over this anyhow? they have not contacted me yet. and i guess he told my bf, that she cant get unemployment because of me too and that is my fauklt? ha ha i didnt tell the ***** to sleep on h er job! 2. ok, another nurse that i know got fired, not the same place as where the ex's gf worked, but another place. she was fried or let go because the don told her her head was not iny in her work, so she goes to apply for unemployment, will she be able to recieve this? and, she is worried since she is in debt that they will garnish her unemployment wages, does sanyone know if this is true or not? thanks, i can learn somet hings from f that is possible? thanks for your time, and excuse my spelling....

Hi, Im an LPN. I make $15/hr and work 40 hr/wk with weekly pay at a home health agency, hrs subject to change d/t other nurses wanting hrs or hospital stays or whatever may come up, so its not as good as ya think, I did work in a nursing home and my shift I made $15/hr there also, that was on 2nd's though, 1st shift makes $14.50 and 3rd is the lowest at $14. I hope this helps you out. What is your hourly wage and where do you work?
