Mt. Saint Mary's BSN 2021 Fall

Hey everyone!

I applied to MSMU end of Jan for the fall 2021 BSN program. I just received an email today inviting me to take the Kaplan exam. I was told the minimum passing score was 70%. However, I registered to take the exam and it says there is no minimum to pass. I wanted to reach out to anyone who knew anymore info on this topic and if they received the same email as well.

I have taken both the TEAS and the Kaplan. In comparing them, I would say the Kaplan is relatively easier than the TEAS in my opinion. In my scoring on both, I got a 79.5 on the TEAS and an 89% on the Kaplan. To study, I would say to watch Crash Course and review old A&P notes (for the science section), brush up on your conversions and other math concepts, and review some basic english rules. I believe there is a forum from 2019 for the MSMU BSN class and there was discussion of what those students studied and it was quite helpful to me. Also, there are playlists on Youtube that have great videos on specifics for each of the four sections.

I’m a little confused about the Kaplan exam. In the email I got it says to click on a link but have the zoom on the phone??

Hi everyone, 

I just took the Kaplan. I got an 86%, I wish I did a little better in my science - but I’m happy with the score. We were told before the exam that acceptances should start rolling out in about 2 weeks.

Hey everyone, I initially was going to apply for Fall but then ended up deciding not to. But I received an email saying they have extended this app cycle until April 1. So now I am rushing with getting everything together! LOL Does anyone know what clinical sites MSMU has for their program?

Did they update your application home page at all? Just wondering if they will let’s us know about denial/admit on the application portal at all? Or if it’ll just be an email.

Thanks for the information. What other schools did you apply to? Hopefully those schools work out for you. Do you live in SoCal area?

Hey, yes I live in LA, I also applied to the LVN to BSN @ APU. That’s my #1 choice. ?

Thanks for letting us know! I thought of applying to APU, but I think they wanted me to have my pre reqs done + final grades posted by June 1st, but my colleges wouldn’t have it in time. I was just missing one class.  ?

same here with MSMU. My transcripts for one school were so delayed and were not sent until the day after the deadline because the registrar was on “leave”. MSMU does not make exceptions so I’m assuming that had an impact on my application ?
