Hey everyone!
I applied to MSMU end of Jan for the fall 2021 BSN program. I just received an email today inviting me to take the Kaplan exam. I was told the minimum passing score was 70%. However, I registered to take the exam and it says there is no minimum to pass. I wanted to reach out to anyone who knew anymore info on this topic and if they received the same email as well.
Good luck everyone!

Hi Ashley! I also applied to MSMU for the Fall 2021 BSN program. I got the same email as you did and it said that there is no minimum passing score, which I'm assuming is because they're just comparing us to each other and not to a score. I don't really know much other than that. Good luck to you and the rest of the people that read this forum!
Also, do you happen to know anything about the average GPA, Kaplan score, and amount of applicants that are applying this semester or that have applied in the past? There isn't anything online that I can find that answers any of those questions...LOL.

Hi! I don’t know anything either! LOL there is zero information online about this. Also, I was under the impression the program was 2 years and it’s actually 3 and the total cost is $129,000 so im not sure if I still want to go.
Hi! Yeah they really don't give us any information about anything. I heard it was 3 years as well. I'm currently at Biola University and I got rejected from their Fall 2021 cohort for the BSN program so I'm praying MSMU is the way to go. I wish it wasn't that expensive but my options are limited LOL.
I don't know where else we can get our information from...do you know anyone who applied previously and got accepted??

Hey guys! I also applied for the Fall 21 BSN program as a transfer student, and I’m taking my Kaplan tomorrow, any advice on how it went? I studied A&P and refreshed my math skills. But from what I’ve heard most students who got accepted had a Kaplan score ranging above 80% and had about a 3.5-3.7 avg GPA. But a lot of students end up declining the offer mainly because of the cost of tuition. Also I didn’t know it was a 3 year I was more under the impression of 2 since I have my pre reqs done.
Hey Preet! I'm also a transfer student. I'm taking my Kaplan tomorrow as well, best of luck to you! I pretty much did the same as you studying wise and I've heard that the Kaplan is easier than the TEAS. There is another forum for the Fall 2019 BSN applicant group and the stats of the people who got admitted had 88% as far as I could see, but where did you read that 80% was the majority? Hopefully that's the case as opposed to high 80's LOL. Also, do you happen to know how many people apply each semester? I can't find anything on line about that. It seems like MSMU is really not clear with the amount of info they put out about this program in general LOL.
Hi Garyn! Best of luck to you as well! That’s what I’ve heard as well, I feel the Kaplan is straightforward with many questions, I got the review guide for it but tbh it’s pretty useless I just washed some crash course videos and looked over my past notes from classes. I know that the passing score for the Kaplan was 70% in the previous years, but right now MSMU doesn’t specify anything but like you said they’ll use it to compare students. But 80% of the majority came from a reddit thread I was reading about private BSN colleges in LA last month. But MSMU doesn’t specify how many people apply but I do know that they take in about 20 transfers or so that’s what people have heard from admissions counselors, but many decline and I’m not sure if due to covid they’ll take more into consideration. But I did have a question about tomorrow, so I got an email today for the reminder about the exam tomorrow. It says to log on 15 mins before the exam starts, and when I click on the link in the email it says event not yet started. So do we just stay on that link till 2pm and it’ll automatically refresh? Or is there somewhere else we login?
I agree. I also watched Crash Course and brushed up on general grammar rules and math skills. Oh that's interesting. I've been digging around anywhere on the internet that could provide any time of beneficial information about this program, so that's good to know. I'm hoping that since MSMU is so expensive, less people will apply but honestly who knows what's going to happen. Hopefully we'll both be accepted for the Fall! I also got the reminder email. I think I'll just try to log on through the link around 1:45, since I think they'll open it around then if they said be there 15 minutes before the exam starts. That's as far as I know from the emails, so I'm guessing that is how it'll play out.
I tried to find information regarding the timeline of the program and it just lead to the same information on their website. I’m actually considering West Coast as well and since they have classes all year around their program is done in 2 years rather than 3 with MSMU so I’m contemplating because that one extra year with MSMU makes it a little more pricey. But yes fingers crossed! I hope we get in! And okay perfect haha, at this point I’m not stressing too much about the Kaplan anymore. Just sort of want to see what I get already on the exam LOL.

Hi everyone! I took advantage of the extended deadline and am going to submit my app this week. How long about was everyone’s BSN essay? I don’t want to make mine too long. I emailed a counselor to see if there were any specifications because I don’t see any in the application.
thanks!
Hi! It was super hard to find info online but I found a page that said 3-5 pages so my essay was 3 1/2.
Also- for anyone who took the Kaplan on Thursday what did you guys get?
Hi guys! My essay was about three pages as well. As for the Kaplan, I got an 89%. How did you guys do??
Also, when are we supposed to hear back from admissions?
