Mt. Sac nursing 2017

Published

Hi guys,

I just submitted my application to Mt. Sac just a few days ago. I know they are taking applications until Sept. 1, 2016. This application period is for a start date Spring 17'

I'll be posting any updates on here, hopefully others will also contribute to their experience or updates on their process.

Aw man! Well then I will update you on Thursday! Lol

Okay so I was able to figure out the whole transcript thing so I made my appointment! I just left and I'm in! She said I'm number 42 out of 60! I had 78 points! She did say the cut off was 77 and they were really surprised because last semester it was 72! She also said that orientation is Jan 10-13. And the best news is that I'm 99.9% sure I saw your name about my own! So early congrats to you Sara!!!

Really! Great! I'm so excited! I have my appointment tomorrow:) thank you for checking! Did you only have to bring transcripts and proof of hs graduation or did you have to bring the other supporting documents as well- like the ones you used for points on the multi criteria sheet?

i only brought the transcripts and my diploma! That's it! It was only 20min! I'm so relieved!

Cool.. who was your counselor? You can PM me if you want

Had my appointment this morning. Unfortunately I'm on the wait list. I'm not too bummed considering that majority of waitlist people got a seat last semester. I'm also retaking physiology, since it's been more than 5 years since I took it to improve my GPA. So if anything I'll be in even better standing next application period! Good luck everyone!

How many points did you apply with? A previous commenter said that 5 people already dropped their spots - so if you weren't too far on the wait list I'm sure you have a great chance still! Keep those fingers crossed!

FYI to everyone that is definitely in. You will need to complete two course requirements. Make sure you have the counselor check if you have met these so you can do ASAP. The first is due before second semester!! you will need child development 10/ or developmental psychology 14. Before you start third semester you need psychology 1a. She also mentioned Speech1a but if you have a posted degree this should have been met already. Just passing the info on so you can get a head start during winter. Good luck!!

Do you have to accept the offer on the spot? I'm still waiting on another school's decision that won't be released till early November so I'm not ready to commit or withdraw just yet...

And with the cutoff being at 77, does that mean 77 AND above are in or 77 & below are alternates?

No you don't have to accept the offer on the spot. The counselor just verifies your transcript and let's you know your spot on the list. Official letters won't be sent out until November. And the way the counselor told me was the the lowest points that were definites were 77 and below 77 are wait list. But that is what i understood.

What at school are you waiting for?

i applied with 73 points. As long as I get an A in physio this semester(which i'm on the right track to) I'll have 83 points for the next application period. i'm just eager to start! so hopefully I can get a seat. i'm crossing my fingers, toes, etc. lol

Oh good!! So next semester for sure! But my counselor told me that the people on the wait list have a very good chance of getting in!! So hopefully you get in now! Did your counselor tell you the same?

He didn't really say that I still had a chance for this semester. Which i liked, because i don't want to get my hopes up. But he did tell me that next semester I'll be in (as long as I get an A... or B will put me at 78 points). He did tell me to have the orientation days blocked off (so i'll be there!) and that they even call those on the wait list up until the first day of class!
