Hello everyone,
I decided to make this post to connect with others who will be applying to Mt. Sac's program for the Spring of 2019. After calculating my points for the multicriteria screening I'm currently at 52 points before the Hesi. I'm scheduled to take the Hesi on the 31st. Really hoping to end up with 77-80 points, I've read that the cutoff is usually around 77 points so I'm praying that will be the case this year as well. Although I saw a comment on the Fall 2018 thread & someone got in with 72 points as an alternate. I'll also be applying to Chaffey, San Bernardino Valley & Western Governors University.
Good luck everyone!
I went to mine today, the counselor wouldn't tell me. He said I will find out in November. This waiting game is no fun!
Ugh seriously! I ended up getting an email in my spam box. Go figure lol I have my appointment next week BUT I'm prerty sure I will be an alternate because of my points. I also just found out that my first choice school has received a record high amount of applicants... So at this point I'm praying & putting all the good vibes out there. Hopefully we all get in somewhere!

I'm glad you did get a email. Yea crossing fingers too.
Hi everyone, I got an email with 75 points and I saw my counselor on Sep 7th. She told me it was too soon to tell where I was in ranking and there wasn't enough applicants being interviewed at that point for her to determine where I stood compared to other students. She did tell me that they didn't have enough people apply. I think she said something like they take 200 applications and at that point only had like 160 or 120 i dont remember exactly. I assumed that it's because I was early with my appointment. My counselor was super nice and she spent like an hour with me. She said I'm not in yet, I was selected to verify docs and the next step will be the nursing staff to verify my docs too. She said sometimes points go up or down with the nursing staff and that just depends on your documents. And lastly, she said the official acceptance emails would go out mid november. She said the dates online are a little off and they are delayed about a week or two.
I hope this helps! Also, if anyone else has any other info they could give, maybe someone who went in for a later counseling appointment, you could share your experience. I really want to know if my 75 points are good enough. I went to the application workshop and I told the lady there (michele) that my points were 75 and she said thats pretty good so fingers crossed!!

Hi. Thanks for adding your experience with your counselor on this thread. I met with a counselor this week and from what he has told me and what I asked, it is the same as your experience. I have a feeling that they stopped revealing the number order of the students as potentially it could be problematic if the information is given out without proper documentation and such. I remember when I went to the information sessions, Michele did mention that getting a verification notice is a good thing. I know that some people on this thread applied with 72 points and received a letter. The counselor did tell me that the application pool for this semester was smaller than normal which is good for us. :) I guess the department wants to wait until the end of the verification session to determine to officially determine the top 60 as not everyone will end up making appointments or decide not to go to Mt. Sac. Also from how I was seeing it, there are still a lot of opportunities for those not in the top 60 to get into the program. First was the verification process, second would be notifications, third is orientation and fourth is actual start of school. The verification process invites the first 100 or so no matter what you can always get bumped up the list. Hopefully we will find out early November versus late but I think you are right about the delay as the verification process is past Oct 1. Good Luck!
Hello everyone. I won't be attending the counseling appointment I had scheduled with Mt. Sac. I actually got my letter of acceptance to my first choice school. Best of luck to everyone on this thread! Sending all the good vibes everyone's way!
Congrats NursingHopeful95! Good luck on your studies and future endeavors!
